My friend drew me this for a Christmas present! She's so sweet! I'm really lucky to have her as a friend; it only happened because she liked my shitty fanfiction and sent me a message. Otherwise we never would have wound up interacting with each other.

Oh my god... Like, my friend told me she burned her hand making mashed potatoes, but I didn't realize just how bad it really is. She's had to go to a specialist and will even need to go to a plastic surgeon. Her trip to Japan is in January and she has to make a doctor's visit every day until then.
It's always when you're doing the most mundane tasks that the worst things happen.

HAPPY 2017!!!
Sorry to the Admns, Mods and Site Staff for all of the spam reporting because I found it incredibly coincidental that there were more birthdays on this day than any other.

How late did everyone stay up? I was in bed before 10 and I'm still super tired today. ><

Eh, 10-ish. After having 5 nieces spend the night and after sending them home, I was going to be productive at home, but it turned into a lazy day where my wife and I wound up watching 6 or 7 episodes of Grey's Anatomy. I fell asleep.

New years was crazy here....
I helped a friend sell empanadas out of his house, without asking anything about what the typical New Years is like here before. I was in for a shock, to say the least.
First, I thought the city was going to burn down. Turns out the custom here is to build as many giant dolls out of old clothes and hay as possible, then douse them in gasoline, throw a match and run like hell at midnight. Even this morning, every street had ashes and burn marks all over the place.
Then, the dress was interesting. It's not enough to just set things on fire for new years, oh no. Everyone had to wear the wackiest things possible, from grotesque masks to a very large number of cross dressers. On that note, it's AMAZING to see guys in mini skirts and heels trying to run from fires quickly.
We sold plenty of empanadas and hot cups of coffee, mostly due the guys in mini skirts trying to deal with the cold as it was below freezing outside last night.
I'm not sure if that qualifies as success or just strangeness.

I feel like I'm only now just waking up from 2016, which is a shame because I should be asleep. Turns out I am going to be making shirts for a wedding. Gonna be interesting.
