What beautiful football from the Germans today !
They played like clockwork and the Brazilians were just severly outclassed.

Local analysts called it a brilliant example of highschool football. The Germans played a lot of triangles in that first half. Three germans around one brazilian to get the ball forward and shoot a goal.

Exactly that.

There was a clear difference between the two teams - Brazil revolved around one or two star players. The captain and Neymar were out and they were completely lost without them. Germany had 11 star players and a brick wall in the goal.

I'm not a huge fan of soccer but I am keeping an eye on the world cup. I don't watch the games but I do look up who wins against who. That Germany vs Brazil match...I've never seen a team score so many goals in my entire life, probably because I never watch soccer.

Also...saw this on Reddit

So Hummels said they decided that they didn't want to humiliate Brazil in the second half

That's all she wrote. Congratulations to the World Cup 2014 champions Germany. The two teams both played their hardest and respect for Argentina for doing their best. Germany won because they did better than their best.

Very well deserved victory from the Mannschaft !
Great to know that we've got an excellent generation of German-engineered football to look forward to (except when they're playing France in which case boooooo).

I like how Argentina realized their 8 - 2 defense wasn't worth shit once they got a goal against them.
