I didn't like the idea of Duck Hunt Dog being in the game at first but since he's representing an era, I'm alright with that. Ice Climbers still woefully underexistent though.

I knew about Fire Emblem because I have a brother who was a fan of the series. Same goes for f zero.

I had a friend who was a fan of Metriod. After playing Melee, I talked to him about Samus and he told me about the ending of the original game where it showed her being a girl. I didn't believe him for the longest time.

First, regarding the roster, Sakurai mentioned that even though many characters are included, there are some who worry about those who didn’t make the cut. He specifically addresses the absence of the Ice Climbers as well. It seems they were running in the Wii U version, but due to the required hardware power, the team couldn’t make them work in the 3DS game. There wasn’t as high a priority given to series that are unlikely to have another installment at this time.

On the topic of different release dates for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS, Sakurai mentions that this was for debugging, which was necessary to avoid there being considerable differences between the two versions. If both games had a shared release date, a launch in 2015 may have occurred.

I think it's total bullshit that the Wii U version might suffer because the 3DS isn't as powerful as the Wii U version. Hopefully if DLC is going to be a thing for Smash 4, they can get past the technical issues for the 3DS version later on.

Y'know, growing up with melee, I was always told everyone hated Ice Cimbers, I guess this changed?

My Opinion on them? I personally thought them annoying and am kinda glad there not back. (I think they would work better as an assist trophy but that's just me.)

I don't think it's just that people like them, it's also the fact that they were a complete character, but weren't used because the 3DS isn't powerful enough to handle them. I think people would have reacted the same, if not worse, if it was any other character.

As for my opinion on them. I don't really care too much, because I never really played with them. If it was a character that I really wanted, like Mewtwo, then I would be pretty pissed as well.

People may not like Ice Climbers but their grab loops are dirty as heck but this sillyness right here:

is why they're are S tier in every game.

Grab loops from 0% to a guaranteed instant kill. Ughhh. Shame we don't have the Ice Climbers and grab loops in the new Smash.
