Best and Worst VG Movies
#16
Okay so both the best and the worst movie has to go to the Mario Brothers Movie now hear me out, its a terrible movie but there is just something that makes it magically bad, it is the gaming movie equal to the Room or Birdemic movies that are just so terrible that people love them.

When I was growing up me and my friend who I've known since the age of three used to play Super Mario World all of the time, when we saw the movie we were ecstatic, it wasn't about the terrible acting, the bad rendition of the mushroom kingdom or the fact that koopa's were just normal people, it was about the adventure! (Please note we were around 5/4 at the time so this was all so mind blowing! :P)

I'm pretty sure after that me and my friend said we were going to become plumbers and save the world from koopa's. Sorry I'm a little biased towards that Movie as its one of those films I remember watching as a young'n on a recorded VHS, but I would watch it over and over again.

The first two Resident Evil movies are not that bad. Especially the second one with Nemesis. They tried and managed to do something good there! :P
Well that's it, whatever it was it died there.

As for the Tekken movie...oh god, why?

It was so bad that my brain tried subconsciously to erase it's memory. Yet you reminded me :P

I just remembered the Double Dragon movie. And if I recall correctly, it's actually worse than the Super Mario Bros movie. SMB does have that B-movie charm, and like SuperSquid said it's right up there with the Room and Birdemic as "movies I love to watch because they're so horrible".

But oh god, the Double Dragon movie. I think one of the worst things about this movie was Abobo, who was changed from big ass, burly, mustachioed badass to.....whatever the hell this thing is

A couple of other movies I didn't mention but enjoyed a lot: Hitman, Max Payne, Forbidden and all the Mortal Kombat movies. I also liked Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun, though I had to watch it dubbed because I couldn't find subtitles for it. The dubbing was just awful. Like, the original RE bad.

As far as animated movies go, the only ones I've only been so and so with are the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters movies, though they were still decent fun to watch. I also stopped liking everything animation related about Pokémon after the third movie and Mewtwo Strikes Back. 4Ever was just... lame.

I think people would've liked that movie more if Final Fantasy wasn't in the title. The first time I watched it I had never played an FF and I enjoyed it.

It's a competent scifi movie, it's relaxing, and it had amazing CGI for it's time. I agree.

Spirits Within is one of my favorite movies from my childhood. I even went and bought it on DVD recently. Gotta watch it again soon. I really don't mind the FF in the title as mostly none of the games really tie into each other anyway.
