I was happily working away like I usually do up on Parliament Hill here in Ottawa when a gunman forces his way into the building and starts shooting. He's subdued by the excellent security forces we have whilst we're all being evacuated as best we can, not knowing if there are other terrorists ready to pop out right next to us.
Then I spend the next 12 hours in a saferoom as they secure every nook of the parliamentary buildings to make sure that no more shooters are hiding out.
So now I can add "survived terrorist attack" to my CV :)
So... did you bring your gameboy? Could probably bang out a few gyms while under siege.

I actually carry my DS on me since the attack. On the day, we were evacuated so quickly that I didn't have time to take my phones or tablet. I met some new people, though, so that was nice.

So, Mumble is an open system that allows a large group of people to speak with each other without having to send individual group invites or share contact info (as opposed to Skype). We've kind of run out of time for the Skype group call, but we do have a Mumble server dedicated to the VGNetwork (and a room specifically for VGFacts that fits 100 people). Details on that server and it's log in info are in this thread:
http://www.vgfacts.com/forums/thread-2355.html
And a Mumble Tutorial can be found here:
This video shows how to connect to a new server (which you will have to do unless you have the VGFacts Mumble Server saved already like me) and how to set your microphone correctly.
Edit: BTW, the planned time to start is 5 PM Eastern Standard Time.

I totally missed the fact that this was planned for 5 today until just now. I won't be able to make it as I won't be home, unfortunately, but I'm looking forward to the results all the same!

I wished you would have brought up the fact that we were doing this via Mumble a few days ago. I'm downloading it as I type and I'll test it out between now and 5, and hopefully I'll be in the chat with all of ya'll.
Edit: Up, running, and ready to roll.

Given that it turns out that BumblebeeCody has a heart of pure gold ( http://www.vgfacts.com/forums/thread-167...l#pid51761) - I hereby nominate him for a last minute award : "Most humane and charitable human of the forums award"
PS - Europeans, remember that North America has already gone to Daylight savings time, so 17h Eastern is 21h London time.

I forgot that other places don't use Daylight Savings Time. I feel sheltered sometimes when I talk with people from Europe.

Europe does have DST, they're just switching next weekend.
Places closer to the equator are less likely to change times (as it doesn't vary that much from season to season), same for countries where a high percentage of the population wakes and goes to bed with the sun (so not much use of clocks and therefore why bother changing the time?).
I remember when I lived in Scotland, we'd sometimes see the sun set at 15h before daylight saving kicked in, meaning the sun would rise at 8h30. All those walks to school in the dark, good thing it was a safe place !
