Ah, been a few months since anyone's posted here, but I gotta catch up on how everyone's familiars are doing!

This makes me sad since I filmed this very shortly before I was shocked to find Iris dead last month, but at the same time it's a nice memento of her.

Basically I thought I was being funny by showing how guinea pigs don't respond to their names, but rather something else they find much more appealing.

She's just a fat furry potato and I love how she'll just chill on my lap.

Oh my... I cried when I got home. Dahlia missed me so much! She ran to the front of the cage and wanted to be pet and loved. She just closed her eyes and raised her chin as high as it would go so I could scratch it.

Also... Cute story while I was on vacation.

I have to pet every dog I see. One was laying outside of a store with no owner in sight. I approached and, as I was asking "Are you friendly?", he plopped over on his side so I could rub his belly.

Prepping Hallowe'en as a ghost !

Dahlia scared the life out of me. She burrowed into her hay so just her butt was sticking out. I came up to her cage and actually had to gently shake her to get her to move. She must have really been sleeping; I honestly thought that she was dead.

So since Iris passed I've really been wanting to try and get Dahlia a new friend but haven't had any opportunities. My local humane society hasn't gotten any in and the rescue closest to me decided to stop taking in pigs. I just found a guinea pig finder site and someone an hour away needs to re-home this beautiful girl.

Sent her an email. We'll see how it goes.

Mate, that's got to be half-rabbit. It's so fluffy !

:C That piggy got adopted out to someone who lived closer. Now there's a pig at a human society about an hour away from me. I sent them an email to see if one of their volunteers ever comes by my city. Otherwise I'm not sure when I'd be able to pick her up. I wonder if they'll hold her for me.

There's no picture, but the listing says that she's very sweet, and Dahlia's age, so maybe this will work out better.

I have the worst luck. That piggy has been adopted.

However, I have a SUPER kind vet. All Dahlia needed was a tooth trim so all he charged me was $10. He's the only vet in town who will trim guinea pig teeth so he could have used that against me and really charged an obscene amount.

Dahlia can't decide if she should act traumatized or eat, so she's currently under the blanket with just her nose sticking out and eating hay.
