Your Top 5 Overrated Games

COD is still around, while it does have fans. There are gamers(as well possibly some who are against activision) who still dislike COD since its just the same game over and over again. Its become the staple of what every FPS should be. Yeah, while there are other FPS games that are far superior to COD. There will be those who will try to push developers to make a shooter like COD. After all. Too much of the same thing can be boring.

The whole "people back then were sick and tired of COD so they bashed it when the opportunity was there" isn't really a good excuse considering this...

People are so quick to call out CoD for being overrated, but based on the comments here, it seems to be mostly disliked.
I agree that CoD (specifically the MW games) is overrated in the mainstream, but it's funny that the backlash has made it underrated in smaller social circles.

If I really want to bash something, then I call it for what it is rather than for something it is not.

To explain you what I mean: let's say somebody makes a really shitty movie. The story makes no sense and it's full of plot holes, the acting is really bad, the CGI is crap, etc. If I want to bash said movie, then I bash any of the points I mentioned before rather than calling it "overrated" (because said movie is far from being overrated). Catch my drift?

And like I said earlier, WHO likes COD outside of the mainstream? Nobody.

... You see this? THIS is exactly what I've been trying to say the whole time yet nobody here listens to me! It's either that, or you folks misconstrued my arguments on purpose (Aka you covered your ears while screaming "I CAN'T HEAR YA!!"), which is worse.

As far as smaller social circles go, COD has ALWAYS been an overhated IP. Both back in the year 2013 and now.

I dunno, COD's fine for what it is. The newest one actually has some really well developed single stages. Weirdly enough, I'd argue that it's underrated if anything since people bash it pretty often without playing it. This is speaking as someone who used to do that very thing.

Don't get me wrong I strongly dislike COD for multiple reasons, namely spamming headshots, perfectly accurate sniper rifles with minimal recoil, the entire spray-and-pray mechanic in general, the worst Spawn design of probably any game ever, overall miserable maps and the fact that if you buy their games on PC you need to buy an entirely different game to play on a Mac which literally no other company has ever done because it's stupid.

That makes it a sort of bad franchise for me, but if lots of people enjoy it then let em. It's not like they're doing anything malicious, this isn't horrible mass appeal daytime television defending rapists or downplaying genital mutilation or anything. I woudln't call the series overrated, just appealing to a different audience.


Now Destiny, that's some overrated garbage if I've ever seen it.
