E3 2018

Here's my list of 15 things I want to see from Sony: https://www.facebook.com/notes/repentant...813988125/

I gotta say the amount of possible games from Sony at this year's E3 is astounding. Doesn't mean we'll see everything I want, but there are a lot of possibles in there like footage from Spyro 2 for the reignited trilogy, a Crash Team Racing remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part II. I hope Sony is even half as good as my hopes for them, because even at that it will be an amazing show.

It is with a very healthy amount of skepticism that I say there are actually 5 games from EA that I'd like to see at EA play. https://www.facebook.com/notes/repentant...260421447/

Unsurprisingly, 4 of them are shooters, one of which is a hopeful Dead Space trilogy remake, but there's actually an indie game in there called Sea of Solitude that I only found out about while trying to make this list. Should be great if it's talked about though.

I have a hunch. Next Level games will be doing something new with one of Nintendo's IPS. They're not doing the Luigi's Mansion 3DS remake, and Nintendo renewed 4 of their IP trademarks. Which were Punch-out, Wario Land, Mario Party, and lastly Paper Mario. Its going to be one of these 4. It would be interesting to see how they'll handle Wario Land and Paper Mario.

The problem is, is that it's hard to to figure out which of the four games they could be making. Mario Party's popularity has been dropping like flies, and it's been years since they got over a 70 rating on Metacritic. Sales have also been pretty bad. Mario Party 10 only sold just under 2 million units, and The Top 100 only sold 0.44 million units. Super Paper Mario is in a similar situation having it's sales decline since the Wii. As for Wario, he already has a game coming that's not a Wario Land title so it's very possible announcing one now would lower sales of the game that's coming up. Punch-Out is probably the most likely candidate considering these facts, but I would also think that it's probably the one the majority of people don't want among the four possibles even if they would be happy with it. It's also possible they renewed all of these IP's for the sake of Smash bros connections, and that Next Level Games is working on something else entirely and another team is working on any or all of these games in some respect. Sadly, the renewal of these IP's, and the the fact that Next Level isn't working on the Luigi's Mansion remake may not be connected at all. We just don't have enough information to really tell at this point.

Square Enix is going to have a video showcase not unlike a Nintendo Direct at E3 this year: https://www.dualshockers.com/square-enix...h-e3-2018/

Since there will be at least 9 conferences or video showcases at E3 this year, I'm going to list them on the first post and update it as new showtimes are confirmed.

Nintendo's entire E3 plans might have been leaked as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H4mhdRyDU8&t=92s

I wouldn't take this leak as face value though because there's no mention of a 3DS game in sight which obviously there will be 3DS games at E3.

Yeah, I don't really buy this one.
Sure, they "predicted" the May 7th reveal of the Online service, but that is the only thing regarding the service that was correct or hadn't been previously revealed by Nintendo. In fact, a lot of the information they shared is straight up wrong. (Discord for voice chat, as an example) Also a lot of the predictions for the E3 reveals, while they would be cool, seem a little too much like someone's hopes mixed with some old rumors.

Yeah I get that feeling as well. I could see a Pokemon Red and Blue remake, but not as the start of Pokemon on a home console for a main series title for the first time. There are some things in there that I think just do not seem like something Nintendo would do at this point.

The image shown for the leak has spelling errors and uses incorrect font for Rage: https://gematsu.com/2018/05/wal-mart-can...-cell-more

It doesn't mean these things aren't happening, but with the errors there, the odds of this being legitimate go way down.

Sony's E3 Presentation is going to be focused exclusively on a handful of first-party games, rather than being "a barrage of trailers".
Games featured will include Death Stranding, Spider-Man and The Last of Us: Part 2.
There is going to be no news regarding future hardware.

There will also be some smaller bits of news regarding games, but that's likely going to be a small part of the show. Also Spider-Man isn't a first-party game, it's an exclusive, Insomniac is the biggest independent company in gaming, so anything they make is third-party, and as things are, exclusive since they haven't released a game on multiple platforms since they became independent. There's also been no word on their pre-show that they usually do which is interesting, but this is probably being done on purpose so news can be spread over Gamescom and PSX, the latter of which, was critically panned last year.
