4 million CCTV camera which is around 1 camera for every 14 people

...and it's all bullshit to me.

I find it funny, because all the while I don't have an issue with this. So people can see me when I walk down the street... I'm in public. That's a good thing. It's nice to know there is somebody possibly watching over me in case, god forbid, someone tries to stab or mug me.
I don't understand why people are so scared of CCTV... It's incredibly good. You might not have noticed this, but we really don't kill each other as much as a lot of other countries where they don't have so much CCTV.
I get you want privacy, but then why the fuck are you in a public place if you want privacy? Go home and wank there, stop doing it where they would put a camera.

On a more serious note, I've gotta agree with Dazz on the CCTV front, although logging phone calls is too far in my opinion.

I've never felt like a prisoner, but it's pretty crazy when you see those statistics. One of the main reasons for CCTV is to lower crime but it hasn't made a difference. I don't hate CCTV, just the amount of camera we have does have an..."orwellian" feel to it.

CCTV has lowered crime astronomically... Consider population growth, economic struggle, and other factors before making tbose judgements.

I always thought it was pronounced like "Gift" but without the T. The real way is pronounced "Jif" But I still say "Gif"

I don't get why it's pronounced "jif" when it stands for Graphical Interchange Format. It kind of bugs me, but it's really just preference. I pronounce it like Nappa said.

I'm not gonna say it's good or bad because it has good and bad to it. Good because if you're a sampler, (someone who pirates and buys the real thing if they like it) it actually helps sales a bit, but the number of actual pirates outnumber the samplers by far, but at the same time any money lost to pirating is theoretical because it's not a physical product so you don't automatically lose money you lose prospective money meaning you're assuming everyone who pirated your product would have bought it if they didn't have that ability. So basically I'm in the middle, because as a pirate myself I can't be against it, but I can't just flat out deny that it can cause damage to profits, and does, but not to the extent that companies try to make you think, and it's stealing.
Edit: Although if I'm gonna get right to the point it is more bad than good, but as stated before it's a grey area for me as I'm a pirate myself.
