I think what has happened today marks the fact that a new rule is going to be added.


No trolling - No provoking other members to respond inappropriately.


I'm surprised it wasn't added in earlier, and I feel it's something that's definitely needed as things can get a little hectic around here sometimes. And that needs to stop.

Zombie, please don't take this personally, because I think you are a great mod. It's very true that it does get hectic here at times. But, just try to be careful not to over-react. You seem to do that every now and then. If a mod goes overboard, everyone does.

There's nothing with a little over-reaction and a little debate going on. With a couple of people today, it got pretty bad towards the end and they both said something that's considered trolling.

It kind of ties into rule #2, but it's not has clear as that.

Rule #2 is no aggressive attacks on other members.

Like, if I said you were stupid. That's an attack.


Trolling isn't necessarily attacking someone, it's just saying something to get them to respond inappropriately. If you saw in both threads what happened, there was 2 trolling attempts. I replied to one of them, but ignored another.

I know that is was a joke now. Man, did you even read what I had been typing afterwards? There seems to be something here I'm not getting because you attribute my previous misunderstanding to an idea of malicious intent. I am not an omnipotent individual. I was not part of a forum in serious manner until dykg. I didn't talk to people. You know what? I didn't know it was a joke. I don't know if this is a joke! Hell, with that little discussion, I was talking about ideals of philosophy and mythos. How am I supposed to know what will offend people? Most of my jokes I've used on here are just recycled memes. I throw in something here or there but I understand that there will inevitably be miscommunication. I don't put out a one man commission to change how other people can act. Sorry if this apparently constitutes as trolling, I just see how this could be misused as the forum grows bigger. Its not always going to be you guys when this site gets bigger. You see all these different sites up where after they get big, you see all these crappy mods banning people because they don't like them. THIS ENABLES THAT! Excuse me for being autistic, or whatever it is that offends the, but there can be no good to come from this.

Basically everything that has happened since the Xbox One was announced. All the drama, arguments everything that has happened in the past couple of weeks have been insane. And we had it happen today, as well.

It's just a step closer to have more peace on the boards. We're all here to have fun, no? I want to have fun. I don't want to come on here and deal with an argument that shouldn't of happened.

You're thinking way too hard into this, dude. I know what you said earlier this week was a misunderstanding. I'm not hating on you because of it. I was just giving you an example of what it is. No one is going to get banned because I don't like them. That's horrible leadership. It's just a simple rule to make the place more peaceful. The occasional debate doesn't hurt a thing.

Then why do you attribute this misunderstanding as an example? Why then, do you then deny it as trolling afterwhich? This is what I am talking about. You used it as an example of trolling then acknowledge it not to be. I'm frankly rather angered by this. Are you trolling? I understand that all such is good and dead, lost, in the past, but still it is brought back, and I am worrying in regards to the future. When this site gets bigger, when we need more than 1 mod at a time, or when we need a whole bunch at once, can we rely on human decency to guarantee none of these mods will abuse this rule. Your intentions are noble but I fear they may in fact lead to less than noble results. Any miscommunication could be used as an example of trolling, as you have done in this situation, any argument misconstrued to something far beyond its true meaning. Its like those SOPA/PIPA things. They've got good intention but that doesn't mean they're good for people.

Riot, this is what I'm saying if you haven't been reading my posts. You're using a case that was not in fact as you describe, and you know it, and now you go against Xannidel with this rule after he pointed it out in a debate over whether this thing be just or otherwise.
