I can't really understand how the Wii U will be a flop. It already has a bunch of games that are selling well. The only problem with the Wii U is
1.Region lock
2.No game exclusive to wii u that gamers will want to buy( Luigi's mansion was the whole reason why I got the game cube! :)) And
3.lack of third party support.
I just don't get the point of having third party games in Wii U. Assasin's creed or Batman origins are better off on Xbox and Sony. The whole point of buying Nintendo products is to play their products. Why even bother with third party support? The Wii never had a good third party support but it ended up selling well because of the exclusives.
May I ask what is the whole point of the PS4 and Xbox One that can only offer high graphics, same controller with the same buttons aside with new ones, the same blue ray disc, the nearly same amount of hardware added, just to get adults play FPS games? Is FPS the only thing these consoles can offer? I know there are other games like little big planet but do they make any difference in gameplay when comparing to Nintendo games except the graphics part and few alterations in the game play that just might make you think that you were better off playing Nintendo games as a whole?
In general Nintendo products are slightly cheaper than Sony's or Xbox's so why is everyone starting to wonder whether the Wii U will sell well? They are making games that many people have never played before. I never got the chance to play Ocarina of time in N64 but now that I got Ocarina of Time in 3ds, I'm happy that I played a good game.
So I guess the're trying to do the same with Wind Waker ( which I still haven't bought and played yet) so that people who didn't get a chance earlier now can get one.
