Ah, the safe minigame in ff7 where you have to input the combination by going up and down through numbers within the time limit. The input speed was so fast for me that each time I pressed my key it skipped two numbers forwards instead of one, making it impossible for me to enter in odd numbers.
It hurt ;w;
Finally I learned that the lightest of touches was necessary, though it was hard to remain calm enough to touch the keys with the gentleness needed while the timer was ticking.

How hard DO you press the buttons? :D I can only assume that when I was a kid I would've been pretty rough-handed with a controller but I don't remember the safe being bad at all.

Cutscenes that can't be paused. After recently playing MGS4 and the Last of Us I almost feel spoiled by this "feature" that isn't in a surprising number of games.

2Deep4U games (Looking at you, Dear Esther)
Backtracking (Unless it's handled REALLY well, like in Super Metroid.)
Repetitive unavoidable enemies (Every enemy team dungeon in Pokémon)
And as mentioned at the top, bosses that regenerate health (LOOKING AT YOU FUCKING DYNAMO MAN ASDFGHJKL)

Hey guys. I figured out what makes Kingdom Hearts RE:Chain of Memories beter than Chain of Memories. For one thing the story is told better (but not much). The levels are more well made. The controls are a bit better for a card based fighting game. Last but not lest, THE A BUTTON IS FOR JUMPING! NOT ATTACKING! Why do people think that the A button is better for attacking and not for jumping? That's like pushing down to go in a door. The A button still advances the text, so why not make it jump. Also, no skipping the cutscenes. Thanks RE:CoM for being better.

I just had one that I've never even seen before. Playing Mario Kart Wii, second place 150 CC, 3/4 way through last lap. I get a red turtle shell. BOOM! This is going to be so over. I throw the shell. It goes forward a little ways, then comes straight backwards. Into me. My own red turtle shell quit tracking first place, who I could see quite well, turned backwards and ran into me. I'm assuming it was a glitch in the system, but I don't think I've ever been so mad at a video game in my LIFE!

Mario Kart Double Dash has a serious case of 'The computer is a cheating bastard' all over mirror mode. I tired many different techniques for trying to beat the star cup in mirror mode, when low and behold all the computer players have all the good stuff to get into the lead. Let alone that every-time I try to race I get bitten by the smog dust that is left behind by Wario(as well as anyone who teams up with Wario).

That's standard in Mario Kart though. I was replaying all the 150 CC to try to get two stars on each one. But your own item coming back and tracking you when it is not designed to not ever do that is a new form of low.

One thing I remember that was always annoying to me was in the early PS2 days with JRPGs that sometimes there would be characters that keep saying the same dialog over and over again. This was best done in Shining Force NEO where the one girl kept saying "HOT STUFF COMING YOUR WAY!"
It's cute the first couple of times but not for EVERY! SINGLE! BATTLE!

As said by AVGN, When NES games switch the usual A&B controls, making B jump and A attack.
