Fighting Games
#46
Mmm... fighting games. Like many here, I love them, but I'm pretty bad at them.

In the past, I poured a TON of hours into Soul Calibur II (PS2 version foreva), but I didn't really play any 3D fighting games between that and me getting SCV about a month ago. Other than the Soul Calibur games, they never appealed to me.

I love Arc System's games, from Guilty Gear to BlazeBlue to even Persona 4 Arena. I'm also a big SNK fan, and I still need to play King of Fighters XIII.

I've never been a big Capcom fan, but I am planning to change that eventually. I haven't really tried the bigger Capcom releases yet, so who knows.

I play some fighters, like UmvC 3 (although I suck at combo's) all the Soul Caliber games, can't stand the most recent one though. I've also played a lot of the DBZ fighters, one Naruto game on the gamecube and a few others here and there. I'm not very good though.

Did anyone else see the new proposed gameplay mechanics for the upcoming characters in Skullgirls? https://www.youtube.com/user/SkullgirlsGame

Tekken Tag Tournament for the Ps2 brought me into the fighting genre. Ahhhhh the good days when I played Tekken without the bound system.

I don't like or play fighters much, nothing more than button mashing to me.

Although, Soul Calbiur and Smash Bros are my favourites.

I suck tremendously at fighting games, get me near BlazBlue and I just start flipping the controller around.

Although I was the "town champ" at Super Smash Bros. Brawl for like a week, so maybe that says something about me.

Anybody watch NCR 2013!? The Finals were HYPE!
The archives are working now. Finals for MvC3 and SSF4 (SFxT in the middle but who cares about that shitty game)

KaneBlueRiver vs Filipino Champ was INSANE!
Well worth watching the Marvel finals for some incredible awesome hype matches.

I love fighting games!! My current favorite fighting game is actually Persona 4 Arena but I also love the Street Fighter series, Blazblue, and Super Smash Bros (I do consider this series a fighting game, whenever it's played like one)

I've never really gotten into the SNK fighters but I've tried the mand enjoyed them. I'd like to get into maybe KoF or something, I'll have to pick it up when I see it cheap and have money ^^

I'm currently playing Injustice and like a lot of you guys I'm really loving it. My main so far is the Joker but I want to get better with Batman, Catwoman, The Flash, Harley Quinn and Hawk Girl.

KoFXIII is a fantastic game. It was my main game last year after SFxT was a crapfest. Kept me going for a while and I still play abit now (was waiting till Tekken Tag Tournament 2 came out). KoFXIII is well worth buying as soon as possible. Very respectable game. Takes a lot of skill.
Check out NCR13s finals.

Haven't got InJustice yet though. Apparently most of the frame data is wrong too. Apparently The Joker is quite low down on the tier list. D:

Well it seems a lot play Smash Bros. One of the best points about NCR13 is that they supported the Smash Bros scene this year and had their own tournament with it's prize pool.
If any of you are interested in what high tournament level Smash Bros Melee play looks like(Combos, spacing, movement etc):
(These are just a few sets from Top 8 losers but IPlayWinner hasn't put them up yet).
The finals were HYPE!

Cody, we need to play something sometime. I've never played against someone who could be considered a "pro" and I'd like to get my ass whooped by someone like that so I know how badly I really suck :P

I don't consider myself a pro, but more knowledgeble on fighting games. If you wanna play on Xbox or PS3, just ask. I now have a PS3 stick. Always willing to teach people on this genre.

Rather than learning, I just want challenge :D I'm not all that good with these games nor do I strive for it but when playing online all I can find are people who either spam or do nothing and get angry after getting beaten. It's rare to find someone who actually puts up a decent fight and isn't a dick about it. I'll hit you up with a request on PSN soon-ish.

Sure. I just tested out my Xbox converter and it works great. (It wasn't a PS3 stick but a converter to let me play Xbox/PS3 controllers on the opposite system(Needed it for tournaments or casuals at friends)). I can provide a good challenge :)
