Project Lumina announced today that Melty Blood: Type Lumina is set to receive new characters, stages and free updates via a content roadmap.
@MB_LUMINA Wrote:[Update Announcement] Here are the patch notes for Melty Blood: Type Lumina version 1.03 Neco-Arc Action figure TV commercial from 2003! Just kidding, this is fake. You can tell because 1. Type-Moon wasn't big enough to have TV ads in 2003 2. the anime footage comes from Carnival Phantasm, which was released in 2012 3. this uses the Vine Boom sound effect and 4. Neco-Arc is doing the floss. Still pretty well done, thought. Even with all of that it still looks like a legit commercial. From the video description: RareWare Wrote:Raw Neco-Arc model https://skfb.ly/ooJzW Contrary to what some people are saying, Neco-Arc is not a recent meme. She was already a meme back in 2008. The reason why the meme recently took a spike in popularity is because of the return of Melty Blood and Tsukihime. EDIT: for those who don't know, Neco-Arc is parody of another Melty Blood/Tsukihime character named Arcueid Brunestud. Yes, there are a lot of people that don't know this. Neco-Arc is a Neco spirit. Neco spirits tend to impersonate other characters for whatever reason. Like Neco Arc Chaos being a parody from Chaos of Tsukihime and Melty Blood.

Happy Halloween! Remenber the Meet the Darkstalkers series by The Nostalgic Gamer? The series where he explores the series' lore? The guy also uploaded a three part video talking about the series' gameplay mechanics. For those who want to 'git gud'.
Reminder that the guy also uploaded an hour-long retrospective on the series. Might as well leave that playlist again: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...ZHC6xYVXhQ It's fair to say that The Nostalgic Gamer became the unnoficial ambassador of the Darkstalkers series.

Hey, all. I'm new here, but just wanted to say I am a big fan of the SoulCalibur series myself. Was into watching SoulCalibur 2 tournies for a while back when HDO came out on PS3/360 thanks to Lord Aris' old guides on SCII characters. That game has definitely stood the test of time. SoulCalibur 6 is also really fun, but I feel like there are too many mechanics going on at once, you know?

Ater almost two years of silence, QUByte Interactive anounnced an update on the upcoming Breakers Collection. A closed beta for Breakers Collection will be coming to Steam in January 2022.
The game will be launched on a unspecified date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, XB1, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. QUByte Interactive also announced that Rage of the Dragons is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, XB1, and Nintendo Switch. No Steam version? That's odd, maybe they'll announce it later. Rage of the Dragons was originally developed by Evoga Entertainment (character design) and Noise Factory (everything else). As of May 11 of last year, PIKO Interactive has acquired the game’s IP. This game is NOT an official Double Dragon game but rather a tribute. So no, the Rage of the Dragons IP never belonged to Arc System Works. Rage of the Dragons is not an SNK game either. It never was. Just because the game was released on the Neo Geo doesn't mean that it was made by SNK. A common mistake. And while we are at it, Power Instinct 4: Matrimelee is not an SNK game either. Yes, I've actually met people who tought this game was made by SNK or that the IP belonged to Arc System Works. Arc System Works owns the rights to the Double Dragon IP, not the Rage of the Dragons one. And yes, I've met people who thought that Power Instinct was from SNK (click here for more details). EDIT: I forgot to mention that both Evoga Entertainment and Noise Factory went bankrupt. Just mentioning it for those who didn't knew.

An overlooked fighting game on the Game Boy Advance receives new life in the modern age (A transition from Dual Blades to Dual Souls)
Here's the trailer for Dual Souls: The Last Bearer. Still, read the article. Its quite interesting. SNK shared the official storyline details for "Team Rival" — consisting of Heidern and the game's two female newcomers, Isla and Dolores.

So Darkstalkers was originally going to feature Yokai (Japanese folklore monster): https://www.vgfacts.com/trivia/14109/
Interesting. If Darkstalkers 4 ever becomes a thing they should revisit this idea. Speaking of Darkstalkers, remenber Capcom's Darkstalkers Resurrection: Embrace The Dark contest? This was a contest where people could submit their own ideas for a monster and such. Among these was Azael the Gargoyle, which placed 5th (out of 800). https://web.archive.org/web/201901081622...st-results https://www.fightersgeneration.com/jet3k...azael.html https://www.capcom.com/dsetd/ EDIT: I wonder if Capcom is gonna put those characters that made it to the top 5 or even the top 10 into Darkstalkers 4 as playable characters. You know, if Darkstalkers 4 ever becomes a thing.

Remenber Red Earth / Warzard? That CPS3 fighting game that Capcom REFUSES to port? Yeah, I never understood that. So many arcade compilations or whatever yet Capcom never bothered to port it? Even thought the game has a heavy emphasis on single player content? What's up with that?
I've seen people suggest that if Darkstalkers 4 ever becomes a thing, they might as well make a crossover with Red Earth / Warzard because of how well those two series fit with each other (for example, I've seen people who erroneously thought that Tessa / Tabasa was a Darkstalkers character. So there's that). Maybe even take a step further and make those two series share the same universe. Just say that the events of Red Earth / Warzard took place on Mars or something. Matter of fact, an official crossover manga titled Maleficarum was released in 1997. Now, you are probably asking if I do support this idea. My answer is "I wouldn't mind if it happened". "Why would people think that Tessa is a Darkstalkers character? Did she appear in other games besides Red Earth?" - Yeah, she was playable in Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix and SVC Chaos. She's not the only Warzard character to appear in other video games, mind you.

Whip is the latest character to be revealed for The King of Fighter XV.
Whip is not her real name, but a codename. Her name is not Muchinko either. Muchinko literally means "whip girl" in Japanese. Her real name is Seirah. Speaking of whips, I'm going to leave this here: Devo - Whip It

Clearly one of SNK's best and having gone down the rabbit hole on Whip's bio, a very interesting character that will hopefully get fleshed out more in Story mode. Now that 34 have been announce so far, that just leaves 5 characters to be announced. I just hope that Goro Daimon makes it in as he is an OG of Hero Team and I just enjoy his playstyle. I feel that Kim is a lock but it would be shocking to me if he doesn't get in. |
