Exciting Game Finds

It's made by the guy who did Another World. I liked the little intro, but I haven't gotten far in it, it came with 3D glasses, which is cool.

I'm going to try and play a lot of old PS1 games soon.

Hate to disappoint, I found it for 50p a few months ago... Gave it to Caddicarus when he came over last. :P

I so, so, so hate my country right now. I had to pay like... I dunno, somewhere around 20€ or something on it because people here think that if it's over 5 years old, it's rare. Even if it isn't and even if a dozen people were selling the same product for the same "rare" price, they still think it's worth a million.

I like when sellers said "it´s rare" for a game at 3/4 millions copy in the world (or just a country...) for 30€...

I like the "mint condition" too when the game is not :)

Picked up Rayman 2:The Great Escape for the N64 and Revolution X: Music is the Weapon Featuring Aerosmith for a combined $14. One of the greatest games ever and another game to add to my collection of reaaaaallllly bad games.

That's awesome! I only haven't finished the Dream Cast version of Rayman 2, so the N64 has been my favorite since it has some cut scenes that were taken out of other versions.

I went to about 16 charity shops today, and I found some interesting stuff.

Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven: £1
Dreamcast Collection: £1.50
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories: £1
Final Fantasy XII: £1
Silent Hill: £1 (Found it inside a MGS case, the MGS game didn't have disc 1)

I have a... "Console"... And I dont even know what it is. Its like, a controller, but you put games in the back of it, like its a gameboy... And its kinda futuristic looking, and you can use it as a gun. (Not literally :P)

Any ideas? Its blue BTW, and yes, it has a handle to hold it like a gun.

I have no idea. It sounds like it may be a knock off console game but I'm not sure. Can you give us a picture?

Sorry, but my computer wont post pictures for some reason. I can describe it more, though.

It has MaxxPlay on the front (I need info on that, too. I have no idea what console/company/etc it is. I know its probably the name of the console... But I never heard of it...) and below that, one grey button, and below that, an analog stick.
Theres a yellow arrow pad on the side, and on the other side, 4 grey buttons. And, a switch were the handle is.

Is that enough info?

I would assume that this is what you are talking about:

I have no idea what it is, but it looks like it might be trying to copy games from the N64, since it looks like the 64's controller. From what I could find, it's a Plug-N-Play system called VsMaxx. That's really all I know. Looks kinda cool. Like someone put a gun and a N64 controller together.

According to some sources I've read, it actually can play Famicon games.

Yea, after more review, and I quote from thevintagegamers.com
Although this time there isn’t enough space to make a good enough
connection for most of my Famicom cartridges even work, oddly enough
I’ve found by their poorly made nature pirate carts work slightly
better. Even so, if you accidentally bump the cartridge you’re going to
need to reset the system and try again.

So, I'd pick up some Famicon cartridges online (not NES, have to get the Japanese games), they should work, albeit with difficulty. So, you can play Famicon games for a cheap price. I'm seeing this system on Ebay right now for $30, with Famicons at a similar price. So, it's overpriced online, but if you picked that thing up for like 5 bucks from a thrift store, you got yourself on awesome deal.

I picked up a copy of this game for $7 today. And as much as AVGN hates it, I actually really like the game. The controls aren't great, but I think the design is hilarious. It looks great for a SNES game. Plus, it's a difficult platformer that requires some real thinking.
