I've seen it and, to me, it looks like something you would find on "Are You Afraid Of The Dark?". Not that scarey to a 21 year old but to a 7 year old, I can see it freaking someone out.

I've heard about the movie but I've never seen it nor do I feel like watching it. Can I get a quick rundown on why it is considered so bad?
(05-02-2013, 07:09 PM)Psychospacecow Wrote: [ -> ]Yeah... That used to be pretty darn common! Some Tom and Jerry box sets are being released and fans are upset that they're being censored. It was really frequent back in the day for characters like Tom or even Bugs Bunny to do some black face.Hanna Barbara is notorious for characters based on racial stereotypes.
(I find it unfortunate as this kind of ruins some of my childhood)
Grape Ape was an African-American stereotype, depicted as being large, strong, but very stupid and intimidating. That, and the grape juice stereotype and all.
The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan.
Basically, its one of their scooby-doo shows but with a large chinese family.
Their dynamic was that 3 kids formed a band and one of them was a mechanical genius.
Warner Brothers did it a lot less subtly though.
Speedy Gonzales, a mexican stereotype,'s original cartoon, was based around him crossing the US-Mexico border and stealing things, getting past the border guard, Sylvester, to feed lazy stereotype mice.
There's actually a list of cartoons known as "The Censored 11" which are banned from ever being shown again. I watched Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarves, which is an African American take on Snow White. No, it's not PC at all, but I wouldn't exactly call it racist. It was a pretty clever musical, actually.
Oh yeah, and did you know that Elmer Fudd was originally black?
I hope talking about this doesn't offend anyone. I just fine things like censorship and what used to be acceptable fascinating. As a kid my mother wouldn't let me watch Looney Tunes after Tex Avery's "Red Hot Riding Hood". Oh yeah, and there's a cartoon where Daffy as the Scarlet Pumpernickel blows his brains out at the end. That was eventually cut for TV broadcast. Like, he literally says "He had no choice but to blow his brains out" while narrating. It's isn't implied or snuck in cleverly. It's right in your face.
