Although it is now a ghost town with very few residents, Ohio used to lay claim to one of the most interesting town names in the country: Knockemstiff (Knock 'Em Stiff). There are two theories on how the town got it's name. The more common of the two is that a woman asked a preacher what to do with her cheating husband. The man of the cloth replied to just "knock 'em stiff", and the town became knows as the place where wives would knock their husbands stiff. The other theory is that moonshine was very popular in the area, and knock 'em stiff was a local slang phrase for the stuff.
Whichever the case, it's an interesting name for a town.
Before the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, director George Miller co-wrote an anime spinoff to be released with the film called Mad Max: Furiosa. Set to be “more Furiosa’s story and how she came about”, the project was shelved after Fury Road was delayed for a second time.

An animated Mad Max film would've been AMAZING.
Did you know? That the two muppet characters Stalzer and Waldorf have a cameo in the Pixar short 'Presto'.

^ OMG. That's great! They're honestly my favorite two Muppets. If my guinea pigs had been male they were going to be named after them.
Early electronic bands had to be much more resourceful than nowadays and the advents of computers and other technologies. Probably the best example of this is Kraftwerk. Listen the the beginning of this song here, and you can very clearly hear an electronic drum that also produces a scratchy sound effect:

You might wonder where they got this instrument. The answer is simple: they invented the bloody things. That's right, they invented the electronic drum and then used their own invention extensively in their early works. They also always used at least 2 keyboards in a song at the time, because this was before keyboards were polyphonic (able to play more than one key at a time), meaning that two separate keyboards were needed just to play two notes at once.

Edit: I might add that the innovation continued as long as the technology improved. When simple sequencers came along, John Foxx created this piece by looping multiple sequenced tracks over each other, creating something nearly as complex if not more so than a lot of electronic dance music of today with what was basically analog equipment, all the way back in 1979.
A specific type of seagrass was thought to pollinate by pollen traveling from male parts to female parts with help from flow of sea currents. However, it had been discovered that there is a "bee" in the sea that does this.
Have you ever wondered why were many early movies westerns and why were other genres relatively slow to develop? They are actually 3 different reasons for that:

A) Westerns were extremely cheap to film B) Some of the cowboys were still alive or only recently died when the genre hit its peak, adding a hint of romantic nostalgia.
C) The increased availability to foreign markets helped as well, along with people fascinated by america's wild west.

You may have heard the term "spaghetti western". They were called this not only because of the amount of italian companies financing them, but also because they were also typically filmed in Italy, or sometimes Spain. Cheap and profitable with a global audience. It's partly why foreigners often think all americans have a "cowboy" attitude.
Before "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" was a thing, Mike Lazzo had a plan for a racing show called "Wacky Races Coast to Coast", which was supposed to be Cartoon Network's firts original show. The idea for the "wacky races" show was scrapped after creator Mike Lazzo had a fever dream the night before production was set to begin, in which he imagined the character Space Ghost hosting his own talk show.

Princess Leia from Star Wars does not wear a bra in the original movies (aside from the Slave Leia outfit, but whatever). This is because according to George Lucas, "there's no underwear in space." Acoriding to Carrie Fisher's 2008 autobiography, Wishful Drinking, George Lucas explaned it to her as such:

"So, what happens is when you go to space and you become weightless. So far so good, right? But then your body expands??? But your bra doesn't — so you get strangled by your own bra."

Carrie Fisher found this very amusing and has told her friends "no matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra." Despite dieing of heart complications on December 27,2016, some news sources did state that her death was due to drowning in the moonlight, strangled by her own bra.
Have you ever wondered why USA smileys look like :) and Japanese smileys look like (^_^) ? The answer is quite simple: The Japanese, look at the eyes for emotional cues, while Westerns looks at the mouth.
Here's a bit of an animation trivia for you all. Did you know? In the 1930 movie from Universal, entitled King of Jazz. There's a cartoon segment  that has an appearance of Oswald the lucky rabbit in color, he had light blue shorts.

Fast forward years later to when Epic Mickey reintroduced Oswald The Lucky to gamers, guess what color ended up being Oswald's shorts for the game.

We have them at the federal level also - http://www.parl.gc.ca/About/House/collec...mace-e.htm.

When we're assigned to the House of Commons, we have to get there ten minutes early to avoid the mace procession where the Seargent-At-Arms goes by with the clerks and whatnot.
