QUICK! Can someone answer my question? Day 1 I bought a net and shovel from Nook's kid. Day 2 he got them in again so I waited for today and hoped it would be something new. Do I have to re-buy those items again and hope he'll put something I don't have in those slots? I really want to fish and be able to water plants.

NOPE, you have to upgrade the store by spending a certain number of credits there, then it will upgrade to a supermarket that has more items in stock, and then it'll keep upgrading as you spend cash. I'm not sure what the amount you need to spend in order to upgrade it is, lemme go find it.

Found it, here ya go, apparently there are a few other prerequisites.

If you keep talking to uh... lady at the town hall in regards to things, she'll put you out on little quests and if you don't have the item in question, she'll front you one.

For the watering can, just keep talking to Isabella and keep clicking the "advice for living here" option. If you want the fishing rod fast, just visit someone's town and buy it in their store.

Just got 130,000 bells from a lot of Rainbow Beetles, still need to do it some more for 298,000 bells.

Man it was raining like a mother all day today, so I was just fishing for big fish, hoping to land a coelanth.

Does the center serve any other purpose than having Resetti yell at you more? As much fun as that is, shit gets expensive.

Pretty much it, though he doesn't even yell as much in this game. It turns out that many kids complained about him as he could go on for a while. They're also the reason Blathers doesn't go into full explanation anymore.
