Today CFN profikes are Wayne Nakamura (the boss of the CIA agents featured in Q's ending) and Ken'ichi Kakutani (the karate guy from Makoto's 3rd Strike ending). The translation was provided by Miðgarðsorm from the SRK forums:

[spoiler=Wayner Nakamura]
http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/131580

http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/c...t_11220902

Private Nakagawa: The boss of David Spender and Gillian Leigh.
He's an important figure in the American Central Intelligence Agency.
He devotes much of his energies to train and guide the younger members.
He's currently investigating the mystery of the Man with the iron mask.

Basic Info

Name: Wayne Nakamura
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 68 kg
Blood type: A
Birthday: February, 22
Home Country: USA
Favorite things: Cigars, His Subordinates
Dislikes: Fried Food

Private Nakawaga: He's a veteran, having been in charge of difficult cases and bizarre phenomena for 30 years.
As an experienced analyst for the HQ,
he doesn't miss even the smallest detail.
He still continues to investigate a man in a trenchcoat,
whom he once spotted in an American port.
He watches over the "odd couple" of David and Gillian,
kindly and strictly.

Zpace Jockey's notes: A man in a trench coat spotted in an American port? Did Capcom just canonize Q being that guy in Ken's background? I really hope so!

[spoiler=Ken'ichi Kakutani¹]
http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/131579

http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/c...t_11222364

Private Nakagawa: A man who appeared in Makoto's SFIII ending.
He was beaten with a single blow and a
"Chestoooo!!",
but he's actually a competent and strong man.

Basic Info

Name: Ken'ichi Kakutani
Height: 174 cm
Weight: 97 kg
Blood type: B
Birthday: January, 2
Home Country: Japan
Favorite things: Dōjō yaburi², Tests of strength
Dislikes: Alcohol (He can't hold it)

Private Nakawaga: A karate master and teacher.
Travels within Japan in search of stronger opponents.
His special technique is a Jōdan Mawashigeri³ called Ittetsu⁴.
He was an old friend of Masaru (Makoto's father), apparently.

¹ "Ken'ichi" is only the most common reading of his name's kanjis. If they're feeling nasty, the very same kanjis could be read Kenkazu, or Kenhito... Although usually (usually) with a rarer name they also give its correct reading. The same could be said about "Kakutani", who could also be read "Kadotani", "Kadoya", "Sumiya"... But here we have the .jpg name to prove the former reading, at least.
² Lit., "Dōjō break". The practice of challenging all the members of a single dōjō and beat them one after another.
³ High Roundhouse Kick.
⁴ "One Iron".

The trailer for a new KOF CGI movie called "The King of Fighter: Destiny" was released yesterday.

Could this be that Chinese-made animated series they were talking about last year?

Today CFN profile is Somsak (the Muay Thai jobber from Makoto's 3rd Strike ending). The translation was provided by Miðgarðsorm from the SRK forums:

[spoiler=Somsak¹]
http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/131581

http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/c...t_11224488

Private Nakagawa: A man who appeared in Makoto's SFIII ending.
He was beaten with a single blow and a
"Doshaaaaaah!!",
but he's actually a determinate man.

Basic Info

Name: Somsak¹
Height: 169 cm
Weight: 61 kg
Blood type: 0
Birthday: November, 20
Home Country: Thailand
Favorite things: His Father, Muay Thai
Dislikes: Lack of Sleep²

Private Nakawaga: He trained in Golden Tiger Gym.
He's a southpaw boxer, whose special move is a violent elbow strike
that he calls "Invisible Elbow".
His father was also a muay thai boxer,
and happened to challenge the champion Nuakan (the former "King of Muay Thai" before a young Sagat beated him up) once.
Somsak grew up respecting his father, and became a splendid fighter
then decided to travel the world to test his strength.
During his second trip to Japan, he heard the Rindōkan dōjō
had a new instructor, and challenged her... Much to his chagrin.

¹ The name likely references Thai pro boxer (not muay thai) Somsak Sithchatchawal, who's also a southpaw.
² Yup, so did Gillian...

Vanessa is KOF XIV's Next DLC Character!

Allright guys, is there any non-playable SF character you think should deserve a profile in the CFN website? I just have two requests.

1. Dr. Senoh from the SF2 animated movie: I mean, the monitor cyborgs gor a profile, so why not Senoh? Dude was even featured in Dictardor's Alpha 2 ending.

2. The original Geki (the one who got a profile was his succesor):  I am really surprised that they did profiles for every character in SF1 yet the original Geki didn't get one....

He knows!

Rock Howard is KOF XIV's Next DLC Character.

It feels so weird and somewhat wrong seeing him in a KOF game, but that trailer was amazing. It's Rock freaking Howard!

So 3 days ago Capcom uploaded a profile on the CFN website. This profile is about the most famous hoax character in the history of hoax characters: Shen Long. The translation was provided by Nicholas "MajinTenshinhan" Taylor from EventHubs:
[Spoiler=Shen Long]

https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2017/mar/...e-moveset/

This time, we've got Master Sheng Long for you.

What's his relation to Ryu... ?!

His special moves, besides Hadoken, Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, are...

Jigoku Tomoenage - A throw that instantly defeats his opponent

Also, DC Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios dropped the latest Injustice 2 trailer yesterday. This time showing some gameplay footage of the badies.

So Arika recently uploaded this on their Youtube account...

There are three hypothesis for this on the internet:

  1. Actual trailer for an actual game.
  2. Test footage used to gauge reaction (to see if the community would be excited for another Arika videogame).
  3. April Fool's joke (if this one is true, then is a considerable amount of work for just a joke).

UPDATE: More information has surfaced about the trailer.

http://iplaywinner.com/news/2017/3/31/ap...-joke.html
https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2017/mar/.../#c1152396

Looks like the second theory may be true, after all.

More info has surfaced. The second theory was indeed (and the first one, to a extent), correct. There are even some screenshots being posted over twitter:

I know, right? About time Arika decided to do something with the EX cast on their own volition rather than wait for Capcom to make a deal with them.

Netherrealm Studios recently revealed the gameplay trailer for Catwoman (Injustice 2).

Note: while is true that she was first revealed on the "here comes the girls" trailer, this trailer specifically focuses on her.
