Yay, the tradition lives on!
This is a good thing as I see it. They're reaching the point where the executive who set that date sees just how improbable that date was and they can continue.

This is a really good idea to go by, but the thing that you should remember is that you can burn a cake by over baking it. Half-Life 3, anyone?
Still, Nintendo has a way of anouncing a due date that is unresunable just to have a relese date, then they say "We can't make it by that date. We'll shoot for next year." It's a great way to please the fans so they won't ask ten bajillion times when the next game is going to come out. I really don't mind that they do this.

Well clearly that philosophy clearly went out the window when they made Skyward Sword.
Also, something about Duke Nukem: Forever.

I take it that you didn't like Skyward Sword?
Regarding on Duke Nukem. That game should have been scrapped to begin with. If something was delayed for a long time with a record of 14 years of being in development hell. You're better off to push the big reboot button rather than try to continue something that was better off as dead.

I still don't think Forever was a bad game. People tend to forget that it wasn't actually being developed for a full 14 years and that it actually DID get scrapped and started from scratch multiple times.

Funny enough, the only reason the game took so long to make was because of the art-style. in an interview in mid-2010, Miyamoto stated that if they had used the art-style of Twilight Princess the game would've done by then.

Eh, that's mostly because of the guy behind Zelda these days. I think he said he's wants to have good story over anything else and I believe all he focuses on is the story while everything else (Gameplay, Maps, Artsyle, Puzzles etc.) are done elsewhere.
Don't quote me on that though, I don't even remember where I heard that from but I remember it being arguments to why Skyward Sword was pretty crappy. (Even though I liked it)

I always see people complaining about the bad motion controls in Skyward Sword and I really don't understand it, because I've played through it on the normal mode and Hero mode and I never had any problems killing enemies or fighting bosses or just generally using the sword, in fact I actually think the motion controls in Skyward Sword are nearly perfect and far better than Twilight Prncess' use of them. So whenever I see people bash on Skyward Swords controls I usually assume that it was their fault, which sounds extremely condescending, but I don't have any other idea as to how the motion controls were "wonky" or bad. End rant.

Don't get me wrong, I like Skyward Sword (I've put 80+ hours into it) but seriously does that game have problems. Like, major problems. If I wasn't such a big fan of Zelda, I'm pretty sure I'd call Skyward Sword terrible.

Alright lets try to take the wheel of this and turn it into a different direction for conversation. I know that there are people who like and don't like Skyward Sword. So lets try to change the subject of that with a different topic.
You know what would be cool? An RPG game of Zelda. I sort of thought on this for awhile after seeing Link's cameo in Super Mario RPG. Would you guys play a Zelda game if it was like an RPG?

The last time that they did that no one liked it (Zelda 2 having table top RPG grinding). You're thinking of a JRPG I'm assuming right? That may work but I expect the same reaction from the the fan base that they had for Hyrule Warriors:
And just like Hyrule Warrioers, the game would be cool to play, everyone would like it, and all the bitching when it was reviled would be for not.
