I'm not sure if it's "obscure" though. It definitely attracted a lot of attention when it first released but then just sort of fell off the face of the Earth. Which is a shame because it's one of the few Xbox 360-exclusives worth getting and it's easily one of the best JRPGs in history.

Dat story. Dem characters. Mmmmmm.

THIS, SO MUCH THIS. The battle system was fantastic. And once again you've failed to mention how spectacular the music is. Nobuo really went above and beyond on this one.

I could talk for hours about this game.

I love Shock troopers 2nd squad on Neo Geo, the 1st game is great but i prefer the 2nd.
The soundtrack is really good too (some musics are still in my head).

I saw Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 in a sale bin yesterday for $2.99.
That game was one of my favorite games of all time.
$2.99
YOU COULD BY FOUR COPIES FOR THE PRICE OF A PIZZA.

I've never played Doshin but it looked pretty cool. Was that even released in English? Loved Chibi Robo, though. Nobody else understood why, but I thought it was good fun.

Cel Damage - Gamecube

and Chibi-Robo was ruined by its time or power limits or whatever.

...That was the entire point of the game. That's like saying Zelda is ruined by hearts, or Mario is ruined by mushrooms.

Alot of people believe Majora's Mask was ruined by its time limit.

I've never really been interested in MM because of the time limit/time travel stuff. I've played it, but meh.

Well I couldn't recommend this game enough. Deadly Premonition was just re-released yesterday for the PS3 with additional cut content. The game came out in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and received mixed reviews from complete praise to utter shit. But this game, easily(!) is one of the best hidden gems of this generation. Since it's been re-released on PS3, it's well worth picking up (or just play the first version on Xbox/PS3). It's only a budget title but an amazing, incredible and memorable one that at.
Just check out this one scene.
It may be silly (and the game is full of scenes and characters like that) but it's extremely well written. If you like Twin Peaks you'll like this...with spelling errors, even on the box. If you want something to play, get Deadly Premonition: Directors Cut (or the original)
No I'm no passively trolling either.

THIS is how I was expecting Bangai-O Spirits to be and this is how it should have been. You can make even a mission based game fun and engaging without stopping the game every few minutes and throwing you back to the main menu to select another one.

This game is like a mix of Bangai-O and Vanquish.

That game looks awesome. I've never played Bangai-O Spirits, but I loved the original game on Dreamcast. That game had about 50 missions and i'd say they were about 2-10 minutes long depending on how well you played, but if Spirits on DS is anything like Treasure's other games on GBA, it's much more bite sized and not nearly as good.

They kind of "fell off" as a godly developer with sequels and spin offs that didn't live up to the original, and becoming more known as mainly a shooter company through the popularity of Ikaruga on Gamecube and the rarity-hunting of Radiant Silvergun than the beautiful 2D and always innovative and unpredictable game archetypes they would bring with every new game.

I still enjoy and respect them, but Guardian Heroes Advance was one of the most disappointing sequels of all time for me... seriously.

Okage: the Shadow King. This was one of my first RPGs that I was able to enjoy. What I really want is some one to give me a new game in the same universe (if that's possible. Play that game you'll understand).
