These video game soundtracks you love so much
#61

Can we take a moment to appreciate the sheer funk of this pause menu music?

Oh geez, where do I start? Just last night, I went to sleep with an hour long loop of the Final Hours with Bells from Majora's Mask.
Okay, I haven't seen this one, but I haven't read all the pages: Jet Force Gemini - character select screen, opening screen and the water ruin.
EDIT: I learned how to add videos and spoilers.

This tune from TrackMania: Build To Race for the Wii is horrid and obnoxious, but I assure that you won't be able to get it out of your head and will be saying "I'M DANCING IN THE HEART OF LOVE". The track doesn't even really fit in with the rest of the game... But that doesn't mean I haven't been practicing the Coast platforming tracks while dancing and lip-syncing to this holding the Wii-mote as a mic just for the absurdity of it.

Something from Earthbound. I can't decide which one I like the most. Can I just give it to every single track? :P

I gotta say the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist of Roses is one my all time favorite OST. It's fits the theme of the game. The Vs Lancastrians theme is my favorite from the OST because the whole song feels like you are actually engaged in a battle with the Lancastrians (also known as the BRITSH in the game).

Edit: My mistake the Lancastrians are actually the British in the game not French.

The Title Theme from Pikmin 3 is very soothing and good for relaxing.

Also, I would really recommend checking out this guys channel, he has a ton of videogame soundtracks.

This is probably my favorite song on the GTA V soundtrack. I find it really relaxing for some reason.

Been stuck in my head for a while, if you've never played the game, or heard the soundtrack before. You should. For a video game of a card game based on a video game, it's very very good.

Man, reminds me of the time I came home from the hospital after Christmas when I was four to some of my brothers new games, Link's Awakening DX (which started my love for LoZ) and this game.

Funnily enough, both games had black cartridges, and both games memory died, and couldn't save.

Just caught up on the last two pages.
Recently beat Transistor (with a friend) and like Bastion, the game has an amazing soundtrack. What make this one unique though is when you enter the battle shift scene Red(The protagonist) hums (because she's a singer) the alternate version of the track which results in some truly beautiful songs with a strangely eerie sense to it. (Thanks to Ashley Barretts amazing singing and Darren Korbs brilliant composing)

One of my favourites in the entire game:
Transistor - Gateless:

Then with Red humming:

For reference when the battle shift mechanic kicks in:

Well worth checking out on Steam/PSN

I also remembered another good sound track. Brutal Legend had an excellent soundtrack. Both the music that played in the background but also the vast array of songs you can play and even find after a fashion through play for your vehicle. All Metal bands and all great in their own way although some songs I didn't care too much about. Luckily you can pick your own playlist and decide which songs play or not so you aren't stuck listening to songs you may not like or enjoy.

Hey Cody, I think I'm going to get Transistor just based on that soundtrack.

So, a game I totally forgot about in this thread. I've been listening to game music all day, and this is one game that has taken up a lot of the day. Wild Arms for the playstation. Every track is simply beautiful, and most of them so perfectly minimalistic. It really set the tone for the entire game very well.

For example, can you think of better music to fit with that opening. No, you just can't. Every track fits the situation so well.
Edit: Imma jus' gonna add the whole soundtrack for ya'll.
