All The 'Sonic The Hedgehog' Design Changes They Made For The Live Action Film
The video descriptions says:
Insider Wrote:In April of this year, Paramount released a trailer for their live-action take on SEGA’s "Sonic The Hedgehog" franchise. Fans hated it. They attempted to make Sonic more “realistic” but ended up creating something fairly disturbing. Due to the backlash, the film’s director, Jeff Fowler, promised fans he would change Sonic’s design to make him more like the iconic character we all know and love. The newly released trailer has received a much warmer response. Watch as we break down the differences between Paramount’s first and second version of "Sonic the Hedgehog."

Actor René Auberjonois has passed away at age 79.
Call of the Wild is the last movie I saw in the theater and boy was it painfully average. However the idea that a guy mo-capped as a dog and interacting with cranky ol'Harrison Ford is too damn funny.

I've seen a shit ton of Movies that I can't really formulate my thoughts on all of them, So I will just tackle the movies that came out this year:
This movie is the definition of a Summer Camp movie. So inoffensive and safe that I find hard to recommend the movie if you don't have kids to watch it with. None of the jokes landed for me but I was always mildly amused by the movie. It has a certain charm about, and I did enjoy Sonic's voice and Jim Carrey is entertaining as Eggman. What else can I say about it without being overtly negative? Its ok for what it is and at the end of the day, I wasn't repulsed by the Sonic design. BUT it is not the movie that breaks the Videogame Movie curse.
I give it 2 and a half "Gotta go FAST!!!".
The movie where Harrison Ford hangs out with his CGI Dog. I am a huge fan of the novel and it was an alright interpretation of the book. What I don't like about the movie is that it castrates the parts that I love about the Book. The Dog aka Buck goes through a transformation of being a a selfish good for nothing Pet to a Dog that has seen pain and suffering through the actions of human and is finally able to become and embrace true FREEDOM through the titular "Call of the Wild". Clearly the people behind the film felt that the base storyline wasn't enough for the audience so they have to add side stories that I feel is not in service of the movie. I liked the movie but it completely misses the point of what the novel is about.
I give it three barks.
I wished I actually heard what the the people were saying half the time and not be bombarded by the loud and clunky soundtrack. The movie is fine and I understood the abstract concept that the movie was playing with. Basically a Time travel that plays with the gimmick concept of time being inverted through the means of futuristic machines that were sent back in a series of convoluted spy-related stuff. A lot of pretentious shit.
I give it three inverted bullets.
It clearly wasn't meant for me and pretty much the Final death nail of the Fox/X-men movies. Its a shame really, so much potential wasted and I ended up regretting watching it.
I give it one new mutants.
I really enjoyed this movie. It's a crime thriller movie that likes playing around with its genre and its entertaining watching the characters just trying to one up each other in a wild game of cat and mouse. The variety of characters that show up in the movie is astounding and it is in service of the movie. The acting from Mathew McConaughey and Colin Farrell is the highlight of the movie. The cinematography and the overall story is pretty great and I highly recommend it.
I give it Four Gentleman's.
Not worth your time. I was physically repulsed by the movie at a fundamental level. The movie clearly has no idea what makes these characters work and the overall dynamic of Harley Quin and the Birds of Prey is wrong in so many level. The scene of Harley Quin trying to kidnapped a girl in the Police Station was the worse thing I've seen this year and it absolutely destroys the character of Harley Quin(she is a villain that ranks up there with the Joker, how they made her some kind of Deadpool knock-off, I will never understand). How this movie got made makes it clear how delusional Hollywood really is. Especially the way the movie ends, where the Birds of Prey is established at the last second as if they are going to receive some kind of sequel.
I give it ZERO Birds of Prey and as a lover of woman of all kind and a follower of true gender equality, I highly recommend to throw this movie in the trash bin.
^
Pretty sure Harley Quinn stopped being a straight-up villain some time ago. Ever since she broke up with the Joker. Her change in character reflects that.
Why do people want her to be a villain again? Do you want to her to go back to the Joker and throw her character arc out of the window? Or you want her to be a solo villain?
Moving on....
A month late, but happy 30th anniversary to Home Alone!
A month late, but happy 20th anniversary to Unbreakable!
A month late, but happy 15th anniversary to Zathura: A Space Adventure!
On a sad note,
Dave Prowse, Actor Who Played Darth Vader, Dies at 85
Dave Prowse was the man behind the suit, not the one who voice Vader. The one who voice Vader was James Earl Jones.
