So, I started reading "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", which is fantastically depressing and twisted by all accounts so far. But, it also got me checking back to the Disney film and I forgot how far the lyrics in some of these songs went. I don't think I understand how jacked up Frollo was as a kid, but now that I understand these lyrics and that he's willing to let someone die just due to his own wrestling with ideas of purity/his desire for Esmeralda. It's so messed up, but so brilliant at the same time. I'm still shocked it actually was in a Disney film.
You know I've been pretty ignorant of music my entire life, not really my fault but I've just never had a taste in music although going through a lot of Queen's stuff, I'm really stupid to not notice that pretty much every song I've heard in TV shows for the past 20 years of my life is stuff by Queen.
Seriously, Another one bites the dust, Radio Gaga, I Want to Break Free, probably a couple more I'm forgetting. It's all bee Queen.
Really shows how amazing they are, I truly hope they remain as big as time goes on.
