A 16th century church has re-emerged from a lake, after a bout of drought. Even if you don't read the article, I found the picture so awesome.

Yes, let's forget the bombings that happened the day before, the Earthquake that Japan has to deal with which could have caused damage and death, honestly, because of Paris I can't find out anything about it. Also, while we're at it, let's pretend that 20 people weren't injured in bus crash at San Francisco and 7 of them are critical. ISIS news trumps all! Look, I am not for a moment going to act like we shouldn't be thinking of Paris at this time, or say that what happened there wasn't awful, but it's just as awful for everyone to forget or act like things didn't happen elsewhere at or around the same time, regardless of the reason why.
If you got links for those, I'm most certainly gonna read them.

I was actually thinking of posting links, but I decided I won't. At this point you or someone else who might see themĀ has already read or looked up stuff about the Paris attacks. If you're willing to do that, you can look these up as well. That seem stuck up of me to do, but I already gave enough information about them that you can do searches for them. Look up Lebanon bombing, San Francisco bus accident or Japanese earthquake 2015 and you are solid. Also, I believe that there was a school attacked on Thursday by 5 gunman, 4 of which were gunned down, the last which was caught, but I can't find a date on it so it's hard to know how recent that was.
Believe it or not, I get most of my info from Reddit, and YouTube news channels. I usually only go on BBC and Al Jazeera when I have downtime. Damn shame about what's been going on around the world lately. I don't think these tragedies diminish the importance of the others however. Deaths reaching in the triple digits, closed borders and talks of a French 9/11 certainly worth knowing about. Bombings in Beirut, an earthquake in Japan, bus deaths, etc. are certainly important. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean the news is covering them. Bombings happen all the time and yet are forgotten. ISIS is destroying and selling ancient cities and has been doing so for a good few months. Palmyra has been decimated. We're a gaming site, not a news agency. We don't get everything and we never will.
There's some sad truth to that last line. It's almost impossible to keep everything straight from humans killing humans to nature doing us in. There's sadly, far too much of it happening at once.

No offense, but that's one of the worst posts I've read on this forum. It's not that people are forgetting, it's that the scale and scopeĀ of some events only reach and/or resonate with a certain group of people. It's not possible to know every single event, and even if some people didn't hear or react to an earthquake in Japan, it's not that people are "pretending to care" or are forgetting...I shouldn't really have to explain why ISIS news does in fact, "trump" other news out there.
All of this is truly heart breaking. I read somewhere the death toll is around 115,000 when adding all of these events together.
