"Sweet" I think. Then I look online and apparently, the 'free' is only for a year. So what's the bloody point ?
I'm not going to fork out 100-odd dollars for an OS when I've had this one (8) for hardly a year just because it's free for a year.

Any particular reason that could persuade me to go for it ?
A year is a long time, but then I don't want to buy a new OS when 8 is just fine for me, and would seek to revert from 10 to 8.

One of us isn't understanding this correctly then. My impression was that it will be available for upgrade for one year's time, and then if someone desires to upgrade after that fact, they would have to buy it.

It seems to me that it is indeed free, but he sees no point in getting 10 for a year and then go back to 8. I don't mess with computers much, except at my job, but that seems like a big hassle.
but there's literally no reason TO go back to 8 yet.
Yet. Maybe he hasn't got his money's worth out of 8 yet. He said he's had it hardly a year. I don't have a computer and have never switched to a different OS, so.... yeah. All I've done is got a new computer at work with a different system and it was a pain in my butt to fix everything to my liking on my desktop and such on top of figuring out how the updated programs work.
I don't think I understand, but if you want help with that computer, let me know.

Ohhh, I must have misunderstood - so it's free for ever for those who upgrade now ?
If so, sign me up.

My main issue was that were it to have only been free to use for a year, I was worried how easy it would  be to revert.

I love 8, but am a all for upgrading if the reviews are good.

You are a monster.
Yeah, I've got my version reserved, but I'm going to hold on a month or two for the kinks to get worked out.

Thanks, but it works for what I have to do with it. Plus, we have some pretty cool IT guys to help.
And about you not understanding, I'm not big on all the tech terms and how everything works. It's probably me who doesn't understand.
I know I haven't posted much, but i'm still around. This new salon is kicking my ass. By the time I get home, i'm terribly exhausted.

Work to live, live to work. :/

I'm just glad to know you're alive. I was actually wondering about you this morning, having not seen any posts in a while.

Thanks man. My brain does get the better of me sometimes, but i'm old enough to just sit through it (no matter how hard it is sometimes). Patrick does a great job helping me as well, even through some of the real rough stuff. I've just been so tired lately because of work.
