My dad started playing this simple phone game where you just fling a basketball into a hoop, pretty basic nothing wrong with that.
The thing only gives you one life, unless you watch an Ad to get another one. Then you can but extra lives with coins or something, which of course you can spend money or watch more ads to get.
Is it just me or is that creepy as shit? It's like the game's training him to want to watch ads. I don't really play phone games so this just seems really alien and sinister to me. And my dad spends so much time playing scrabble and shit on his phone, I mean he's not an idiot or anything I'm not worried that he's gonna go bankrupt on virtual jordans but it's still giving me a weird vibe.

It's something I could never do because of how sickening it is to watch (not having a go at your dad or anything) but it just seems like he's having fun with the game, and watching some shitty ad for 30 or so seconds is something he can put up with.
It's a shame Sega Forever is a really shitty version of playing their old games, because he could play some Altered Beast/Crazy Taxi for free if the ads weren't annoying intrusive.
It's freaky for sure though, sort of like those movies were humans are husks of themselves due to drugs/technology and such.
While I'm going to agree that Atlus doesn't handle gay/transgendered characters in their games well, I can't believe there's already controversy over the Catherine remake due to speculation.
...I also hate that Naoto from Persona 4 keeps being brought up. Nato. Was. Not. Transgendered. SHE thought she had to be a man in order to make it as a detective thanks to how super traditional Japanese society it. That's it. It's that simple.

THANK YOU.
It feels so weird for people to class thing as one or other based off stuff that's in the damn game. It's like people thinking Kanji was gay, when he was confused over Naoto, and pretty much the instant she changed back he understood himself a lot more, (although I may be wrong. I never once thought of Kanji to be gay since I knew Naoto was a girl from the start, and from what I remember from my playthrough 3 or so years ago, he felt relieved that Naoto was a girl and not a guy.) It's like saying that Zelda is trans because she became Sheik to guide Link throughout the game.
It's like Walter from Dennis the Menace. That's guy is just effeminate and likes girly things, the kid's not gay and Dennis picking on him isn't homophobic.
It feels like the whole idea of kids/teenagers being confused about themselves MUST mean that they're gay/trans or whatever, instead of just, oh I don't know being young, confused and naive?
I should also add that Rin hasn't been confirmed to be anything out of the ordinary, people are going crazy about ONE SCENE where Vincent is looking at her privates and is screaming. We don't even know what he can see, and to add onto this, it's the exact same face he made when he noticed he slept with Catherine, he could just be shocked again.
Spoiler:As controversial as this may sound, if Rin is confirmed to be transgender, than it would make sense for a straight man like Vincent to be shocked that he has slept with a trans person.
Also, I started playing Persona 2 because I want to go through the Persona games backwards for no real reason. I'm surprised how good the game is still, it's like barely aged outside of it's looks, and even then they're really nice to look at. I just need to understand what I can achieve from talking to the demons, because you do it so much and there was some long explanation that I think meant I need to make a pact with them to use them as personas.

The article I linked above pretty much explains it.
Nobody is actually upset about such things. It's just clickbait websites doing some good ole outrage farming.

Regardless of the article's intentions the comments I saw on Reddit about it were very real. People fell for it and added in their own feelings as well as stirring old shit up again.
Has anyone played the new Metroid on the 3DS yet? I'm thinking about getting. I haven't played Metroid since the SNES game and thought it might make a nice addition for my "addiction" and "mental disorder".
Mom asked me if I had the original Super Mario Bros., which I of course said yes (is there anyone who owns an NES that doesn't have that game?) and offered to play co-op with her. She wanted to practice before since she hasn't played it in probably 16 years. It is a little over an hour latter and she was able to make it up to 3-4 (using the continue code). She had fun getting the PewPew Flower and saving Strawberry Shortcake (Toad). Two levels she got stuck on was the fish bridge in 2-3 and the Bowser fight of 3-4.
My brother asked for a Mario Party night sometime soon, so maybe we can get her to play more thing other then Pac-Man.

I haven't played it myself, but I hear it's really good for what it is. I really love the Metroid series, and I'm a bit weary of Samus returns myself, but it got a high 90 on metacritic, and people do say it was pretty good.
Personally, if you haven't played any other games in the series I'd see if Zero Mission is on the 3DS VC since that game is great and still hold up today, plus it would be the precursor to Samus Returns, so it might be the best option before getting it. If it's not on the store, see if you can emulate it. The game isn't long, you could probably finish it in
less than 6 hours
Can you guys just send me good vibes? I don't want to say what it's for, because I'm scared of more competition, since I'll only have about 10 seconds to get a last chance order in before I either accept I'll never get it or pay like triple for it on eBay.
So Retro, I now have Danganronpa 1.2 reload.

Nice, they're good games.
Try and finish them before you're spoiled on anything, and avoid opinions on characters. Last thing you need is for people to tell you WHY you should like a character, instead of making your own opinion about them.
...I've actually avoided the newest Dangan Ronpa game because I already love him:
My poor heart wouldn't be able to take if he gets killed.

I sadly never liked Gonta much, I usually enjoy the stupid character but it felt like he never got a chance to really be a good kind of stupid character. At best he would say "GONTA GENTLEMAN" and then proceed to be quiet for a majority of the trial. It's such a shame since he's had a lot of potential, but that could just be me.
It's kind of annoying that all the characters I liked from the beginning played a bit role in the story, and so it just feels like I bandwaggon'd the main characters.
v3 is very good though, probably my favourite in the series.
