A reference to a cartoon is good enough for this thread; the post wouldn't make much sense in the TV thread compared to this one.

Great; calling it now, The Poo Emoji Film coming 2017.
Has anyone here watched the Vixen animated series? It is any good?
Anyone remember when The Simpsons was actually funny?
Where is a good place to start with Simpsons? My mom would never let me watch it and by the time I was able to watch it on my own too many episodes/season passed and I didn't really care about the few episodes I did see. All I thought was neat was that they had some Tintin parodies.

I'm going to guess it's not really my type of show, but may as well give it a proper shot. I don't think King of the Hill is funny, but I watch it because I do like the characters. Maybe that will happen with Simpsons.
^

I've seen every episode of the Simpsons about 10 times over, and I'm up to date with the current Season. So I'm probably the most qualified.

Season 1 is kinda crappy give it a watch if you want but if you can't bare it, go with 2. Watch every episode until you can't bare it anymore.

It usually happens around season 11 or so, but when you get to that point just keep on going because there are some gems even with all the crappy episodes.

Personally I don't hate the simpsons as much as other peeps, but generally people agree it went to shit around 11.
So i recently watched this movie called Ernest and Celestine, which is about an unlikely friendship between a bear, Ernest, and a young mouse named Celestine (in a world where the Bears live above ground in their cities and the rodents live below in their underground ones in mutual fear and hate).

The animation, with its water-colour/ story-book look, is just lovely to look at and is imaginative while keeping things simple. The soundtrack is also sensitively orchestrated and unobtrusive, one of those music scores that you can listen to more than once and still find it memorable and appealing.

EDIT: The writing was pretty good as well, it has a poetic simplicity that children and adults alike can understand with no problem.

So i recently found this. Easily one of the best stick animations I've ever seen. The music, the action, everything was awesome.

And before anyone stars asking, yes, Newgrounds is still a thing (not that i'm complaining or anything, to the contrary, i approve).

Does anyone remember the 2010 Mad Magazine cartoon? It was like Robot Chicken, except toned down for kids. Oh, and not funny. At all.

The last I went to Newgrounds, it had SOOOOO much from the previous I had visited it. I don't go here anymore. That may need to change.

EDIT: That was AWESOME, Jocko!
Newgrounds was a MASSIVE favorite of mine when I was younger. I don't exactly remember most of the stuff that I watched and played on it, but I do know some that immediately come off at the top of my head, although some of them have aged kind of badly.

That mickey mouse House parody's design of mickey reminded me a cheap version of Floyd Norman's take on Mickey.
Remember how I said I helped kickstarted a cartoon? Well, that cartoon is now on youtube.  Last Days Of Coney Island. Here's a 22 minute short film that goes through different characters told in the form of animation. I'm just going to put the spoiler tag on it since its a tad violent.
