I don't believe there were any rabbits in Gumball, I think you meant Cat and Fish then.
...They're right there in the image I linked earlier. The dad and sister are rabbits. I forgot about the fish.
That's the thing though. The more current image is a representation of what they were creating at the time of said image's creation while the older image is more of what had been historically created.
I see Space Ghost characters, Scooby Doo and a couple of its clones, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Elmer Fudd, Pink Panther, The Jetsons, Wacky Racers, He-Man, Johnny Quest, Huckleberry Hound, and a few I don't recognize in all likelihood. Those were not getting new episodes.
The newer image is just their most current published properties at the time of its creation.
Whether or not you like the cartoons that came after your childhood isn't really relevant to the images being a fair representation or not.
Is anyone here a fan of the Ralph Bakshi/John Kricfalusi Mighty Mouse cartoon? By the way, you didn't misread that - they actually did work on this.

The show that gave life to the concept of 'creator driven' cartoons! Plus A LOT of talented animators(e.g John K, Bruce Timm to name a few) worked on this!

Yeah, this show really deserves more recognition than it gets. While we're on the topic of Terrytoons, have a gander at this failed pilot. It's basically a variety show/talk show with segments inbetween. Oh, and the theme song is awesome.
I remember seeing that a few weeks ago, I wasn't impressed by it. I personally would've enjoyed
John K's revival of Terrytoons more than that. That just screams they couldn't decide it to make it for kids or the adult audience.

Apparently these weren't the only attempts to revive Terrytoons. At one point there was going to be a Heckle and Jeckle revival on MTV and a Tom Terriffic show on Nick Jr. Paramount has also being trying to get a Mighty Mouse film off the ground for years, but with no luck. Judging
by this bit of concept art, perhaps it's for the best.

I do recall the mighty mouse movie never getting off of the drawing board, but good lord. That's just unappealing in the worse matter imaginable.
*takes a deep breath*
Ben 10 was one of my favorite TV shows during its first incarnation. The idea of kid having a watch which turned him into various alien forms to combat threats both Earth and intergalactic level was a fun a interesting idea. Ben 10 was an all-round good show.
Then we have Alien Force. It used a different art direction, older characters, was darker, and had new aliens. Some were turned off, but I didn’t mind because saw it as a way of trying to take to the next level. All round good series as well. That is until Ben started becoming a jerk and too much emphasis was put on the aliens. Things got shaky in the end but it held together.
After that, Ultimate Alien became a thing, the concept of having ultimate versions of aliens was pretty awesome at first. But then it took AF’s Darker and Edgier direction and turned up to ELEVEN. In just the first season, death became and omnipresent concept and it ended with Kevin becoming a monster and Ben of all people deciding to kill him. Not try to find a way to restore him, no. Despite his forgiving nature in the past, he decided it was neccesary to KILL a dude he’s become great friends with even though he clearly wasn’t himself. And things just got darker and more depressing from there with sadness, relationship conflict, pointless death, war etc becoming WAY too common a theme for Ben 10. It got so dark I just found myself not watching it anymore. And from what I read, I wasn’t the only one. Apparently, according TVTropes, UA got the lowest ratings because it became so unnecessarily dreary.
But then we got thrown for a whirl with Ben 10 Omniverse. About that show, let me tell you that while I apreciated the efforts to take the series back to it's roots, and that I personally liked the inclusion of the Nemetrix into the Ben 10 lore, but I just couldn't get into it, mostly because I was starting to lose interest in the series as a whole when Omniverse became a thing. Needless to say, I stopped watching it sometime after the Malware story arc. I heard the news about the reboot and all I have to say is.... Meh.
Oh yeah, while we are at it, might as well start the always obligatory "favorite alien" thread. Mine is Wildmutt.
No specific reason, I just like him.

Oh, and the more I see the new “reboot”, the more I want the main show timeline to come back. The worst part if that they’re doing it in the “Teen Titans Go/PPG” style of reboot. Just silly stupid comedy with almost 0 of the original timeline action.

I use to watch Ben 10 back when it was new. I caught every episode up to season 3 where I lost interest. I did catch a few episodes of season 3 & 4, but the show seamed to drag on for a while. All I really know from the seasons I missed was that Ben gets a Wolf alien and Frankenstin-like alien forms and something about forever knights or something.
I caught most of the first season of Alien Force before that too lost me. I was busy with High School at the time so didn't really worry about Cartoon Network that much. I heard about Ultimate Alien and Omniverse (Omniverse almost got brought me back) but I have yet to see any of those episodes. I plan on marathoning the entire series one day (probably when I get the video games).
and if We are going to talk about best alien, we have to include Ghostfreak AKA Zs'Skayr (yes I did look up his real name). This is before he became the grim reaper in Omniverse.
Second favorite would be Big Chill
He's back....He's back. HE'S BACK!!!!!
I don't exactly get all the hate the adult-oriented revival of Ren & Stimpy recieves. Sure, it's not as good as the original show, but the animation is fantastic and I find it pretty entertaining. Of all the episodes I think Altruists comes the closest to the original show. As for the voice acting, Mr. Kricfalusi does a great job as Ren, and Eric Bauza gets the job done as Stimpy, though he's certainly no Billy West.

I will admit, APC is a guilty pleasure of mine. Its better than most adult animated cartoons. I think most of the hate comes from people who cant face change, let alone most of the complainers are people who rely on too much nostalgia for the kid show of Ren and Stimpy.
