Of course, there's still some stuff missing, (like no DLC plans, Tripping is gone, etc.)
But this is something that interested me.
"Currently Sakurai's thought process is focused on the notion that a portable experience is a more personal one. Only one player is likely to be using a portable system, and it might be interesting to allow that player to customize Smash Bros. fighters on the 3DS, which could then be brought over to the larger world of a home console Smash Bros. Sakurai's thinking is that an element of communication between the two versions will make both better."
So I can play the Wii-U version and fight with someone who has the 3ds Version? I hope Sakurai implements this, cause that is freaking genius.
Edit: Upon re-reading this, Plus some other forums, this could just mean that you can move the Skills around, like having, Let's say, Fox's Up-B Jetpack be moved to somewhere like Down-B.
Either way, those are some cool ideas.
I'm not sure about that considering what he said previously.

Well that's pretty disappointing, but I understand why at least. Although I wouldn't really consider a different selection of stages along with a customization feature a different game. Had cross-play been included then I wouldn't mind. Hopefully the 3DS version will have an online mode.
I'm sure it will include an online version.
It is a great opportunity for Nintendo themselves to make more money with this as it gives people more incentive to buy both versions of the game, not just one. Considering how they've done different versions of a game before and how each of them have all sold (the biggest being Pokemon games), I'm sure they'll make a pretty penny out of this. Whether some don't like it, they're exceptional at that.
Oh yeah, there's different stuff on version. Dang. Oh well, I'm still gonna be getting both versions. Would've been a cool addition, but would've been impossible unless making them both the same.
I plan on getting both versions, as the console one will be fun to play with friends, and the I can use the handheld version when I'm on the go. I really hope the handheld one includes online multiplayer, and not just local wireless. Even if it doesn't I'd still get it. I like the more cartoonish style they're using on the 3DS version.
Also, I find Villager's smile to be really cute. He's just having fun with his new friends.

I could only wish to be that rich.
Just hurry up and show me when Kirby has Villager's power and I'll be one happy smasher.
I want Villager's final smash to be a tax increase that causes an angry mob of villagers to charge him, following him across the screen and trampling anyone who gets in their way.
I really want to see Reese trample Ness.
I'm glad Villager is a character, but please no more Resetti trophy.

*shutters* Please never again.
Meep. Just don't play with items. I hate items in Smash games. No more Ressetti!
