They seem to really be scraping the bottom of the barrel for new Smash characters. Why not just be brave and but in some Japan only characters? Ouendan would especially work since the DS was region free and people imported that game like crazy.
Kai would absolutely be able to bust some skulls and his Final Smash could have his team show to cheer him on and greatly increase his attack power.

But they are different characters, like Zero Suit Samus and Sheik. If they are their own characters, so should be Dark Pit.
I meant those transformation costumes, and I doubt Dark Pit is just Pit with different colors.
Actually, The Villager comes in both male, female, New Leaf, and City Folk so, 4 different people entirely.

I honestly was really against having Pac-Man in the game, but the way Sakurai has represented him has made me really want to play him.

Played the new Smash and I adored it.
3DS feels natural and the game looks great. I'm seriously tempted to buy an XL so I can have a bigger screen since the transition worked really well. The only thing that was odd was that it's going to take a while to learn how to dodge well since it may take a little getting use to at first within the game. I used Villager, who's Gyroids are amazing and has a great arsenal. The satisfaction from dropping a bowling ball on an enemy is great and it was just a joy overall.
WiiU without a doubt feels like the better version though (not to say the 3DS was bad, as it worked really well) and the Pro-Controller feels incredibly natural. So they let us do two matches and for the first one I decided to use Olimar. While I can honestly say I preferred his playstyle in Brawl, the way he plays now is still pretty damn good and I still plan to use him. His recovery makes up for the lack of Pikmin and they're generally stronger this time around, which is another plus. Then finally there's Rosalina, who's probably my favorite. This is going to sound like such a bad thing, but she feels like a Brawl character within this game with how floaty she is in her movements. That being said, what's in her arsenal is amazing and it feels great controlling her, so I'll definitely be maning her now.

Floaty kind of fits her description pretty well actually.
Glad to get some opinions on the game though.

So does the Mii character. I still think Dark Pit is going to be a character of its own.

Okay so awhile ago I saw a leaked list of characters to appear in Smash Bros. At first I didn't believe it because everyone is claiming they saw a leaked roster but recently Pac-Man, Mii and Palutena were all confirmed so I'm starting to think the rest of these characters will also appear. I will share the link: http://gematsu.com/2014/04/rumor-shulk-p...smash-bros
The characters that still have to be announced are:
Chrom
Shulk
Chrous Men

It's going to be awesome but after watching the Smash Bros invitationals, the game still won't be a good as Melee. The pace of that game was incredible.

I'd really dig playing as Chrom. Honestly was kinda hoping Marth would be removed for Chrom.

People would go mental if they removed Marth. Although I don't play as him often, he is fun to play as. I don't know anything about Chrom, but if the two were to play similarly than I could see them replacing Marth.

I love the direction they're going in with the new Smash, it seems like less of a celebration of Nintendo, and more of a celebration of Videogames as a whole.

I completely agree. It disappoints me, in a way, that Nintendo is treating characters they don't even OWN, with more respect than their own creators do.

Well worth watching the entire set but the highlights are:
Amazing double combo 13:15
20+ minutes on intense sets to be followed by an amazing millisecond victory at 28:00
