I guess I could have worded my thoughts better (that's something i've been having a hard time with since I quit smoking).

My thoughts (or experiences from others that i've known) on each of the schooling styles (that I can think of)

Religious-
One-track and close-minded. I'm not religious, but I don't mind faith. But when you deprive children of everything else in the world it becomes a problem.

Homeschool-
Depends on the parent(s). I don't agree with it, but some (very few) can do it right. I feel the kids are deprived of so much, more so than what they gain. They don't learn proper social skills, and it's much harder to make friends as they get older, not to mention while they're still in the school age.

Private-
ALL THE DRUGS.

Private Religious-
ALL THE SEX.

Public-
You have your good and bad, but every kid gets to go through all their phases with each other. There is some bullying, but it makes kids strong for when they get older (it has helped me, crazy as that sounds).

Wait.. This is about formal education church schools? I am not a good reader with headache... In which case, I could care less if the actual required material is taught or surpassed (state wise)

Well, I guess that needs a few view points.

Personally, I worked at a summer school last year's summer as an attendant and I have got to say, even with all the opportunity in the world, some people either refuse to learn or just plain cannot. Being in Katy, we have one of the country's finest education areas, and people treat it like some drugged out baby making meet and greet. It is really a shame because you see people treating this place like a ghetto when those same people probably have more spare change than entire neighborhoods. It really is saddening, because that is how it starts. I can understand having difficulty, especially with how many people I have known that were learning English while going through, and I myself as an autistic man having trouble with mathematical processes as well as individuals whom I deem childish in reasoning am part of that group at times. Really, the place where you can learn means a lot, but what you do with it means a lot more.

1- I have never heard the words "Katy" and "ghetto" even close to each other in conversation. EVER.

2- All education systems are messed up, some are just worse than others. I agree that some don't want to learn and can not learn. I can't do math past simple multiplication. I can try all day, I can be taught all day, but it CAN'T happen. Everyone learns differently, and everyone is good at different things. But some types of schools only want to teach one way or one thing, never giving the child an opportunity to branch out and find their talents.

3- Two very good friends of mine are teachers for autistic children. I have never seen so much love and devotion in my life. They do everything they can, even if it means money out of their own pockets when they can barely afford their bills. I have a very high respect for (most) public school teachers, and any teacher of children that need extra help. These women got their kids (they both teach at separate schools to elementary age kids) to open up, calm down, smile, eye contact, touch, and HUG AND TALK. This world needs more teachers like them, that are in it for the right reasons.

1. I wish ya hadn't. Its mainly stupid people trying to be cool and kids who's parents moved from California to be able to earn money in a more business friendly environment. I don't think many of their kids realize that, or the other reasons why they left. That, and those drug cartels aren't just standing around having picnics...

Bad teachers are such a pain, especially when they are supposed to be "specialized".
(Ii'm right behind you. I've got work in the morning. Ugh.)

I have to work at 5:30AM tomorrow. It's almost 11PM and I'm not tired.

At least I get to look at guinea pigs tomorrow! Hopefully my bad luck will change and I really will get to have some fur babies again!

Random time!


So, on Saturday I was hanging out at my friends house. We spent like 5 hours playing Mario Party 8 and some Wii Sports. And at his house, he has 4 cats and a dog. The dog is annoying and never stops barking and the cats... the cats are amusing (i'm going to call them all girls because I don't remember if they actually are or not).

Cat #1 - She is fat, but very VERY lovable! When I sat down, She came up on my stomach and laid down. Loved being petted. Heck, she even flopped down on the middle of the floor during us playing Wii Sports. 'Twas funny.

Cat #2 - She's a Siamese cat, or well, appears to be that way. She's super lazy and any time I've been there. She's sleeping. Very cute cat.

Cat #3 - She's a Bengal. She's the most energetic cat. Always running away when trying to pet her. She's extremely cute.

Cat #4 - I didn't see her this time, but the last time I was there she's.... special. She walks slow and, from what I tell, isn't all that bright, either. Cute cat, though. Last time (before this) I was there, she'd keep climbing on me after I'd pick her up and set her on the floor.



An amusing bunch of cats, that's for sure.
