Are you kidding? Youtube is 1000 times better today than it was even two years ago. Just give it time, when the next change rolls around, you'll be huffing about how the "old one" was better.

No, I am not kidding. And please be aware, when I saw "old one" I actually mean when it started. When it was ad free, easily navigated, easy to check inbox/comments, and it wasn't connected to any google.
So many posts to read, I'm gone for 4 days and I spent 40 minutes just now reading all the things I missed. Also I'm back from my 4 days of no internet, hello everyone.
I just kind of want to emphasize how lucky Dahlia was to only be pregnant with one piggy. This has a rather heartbreaking photo, so slight warning: http://www.guinealynx.info/reproduction.html

It's also why I hate people who intentionally breed guinea pigs. Dahlia had such an easy pregnancy, but that's not always the case.

I hate when humans feel the need to intentionally breed any animal, with the exception of breeding to not become extinct.

I agree, it's just that guinea pigs in particular have it rougher than other animals.

Have you heard about that Woolie Mammoth blood they found? They're talking about cloning it and I really think it's taking science too far, even though I'll admit I'd love to see one.

I'm just gonna go ahead and be the devil's advocate and say that if no one intentionally bred animals then we wouldn't have a lot of our food supply (most of the meat) and we wouldn't have pet stores either, as they need to have pets to sell.

There's too many people out there who are just breeding animals for extra cash. They breed the poor female constantly, not caring how it's hurting her body. Some are literally bred to death.

My thoughts while reading those last two posts:
"Damn, cingchris, good point. Touche'"
"Damn, Hex, better point!"

I see what you're both saying though. Also, Hex, red eared slider turtles are in too high populace as well :( They are crazy cheap at pet stores and people still feel the need to mix sexes in tanks on accident or purposely breed.

I'm not saying some people aren't in it for the wrong reasons or do it in a manner that is inhuman, but if no one did it then you probably wouldn't have your guinea pigs, as for the whole food side of it, I don't like how "factory farms" do business, but if they didn't exist at all then almost all the meat in the stores would be non-existent. Also if you don't know what I mean by how a factory farm does business go watch Food, Inc. it's on Netflix.

Also I forgot to say it in the last post but congratulations on the new guinea pig pup.

I actually have my guinea pigs because they're really hard to sex and thus accidental pregnancies happen. As much as I adore him, Colonel Mustard only exists because those folks didn't listen to me and separate their pigs in time. I can't not get attached to an animal I'm raising so it's going to be so hard on me to say goodbye, even though he's going to get a good home. Plus I'm still so glad that Dahlia delivered him just fine.

What we need to agree on here is that yes, of course we need animals to reproduce so we can have food and they can keep their species going, but it's something can be abused as well.

And here is where our little debate ends as that is true.
Awesome. Let's talk about chipmunks instead:

Well that certainly was interesting.
I like eggs.
