So Saturday, I drove four hours to a friends place in a large city to help him move down to a little town that I live in. It was supposed to get there in morning, load it up, drive home all in one day. Instead of everything being ready or even being in the same place, we're driving around this city that I don't know well through the projects at midnight because he had left his stuff at so many different people's houses.

Anyways, I needed to be back home by 9 A.M. the next morning. Yea, I'm doing this Saturday night, whenever I got there in the morning and should have already been home. So, last place we stop at he just stays at this friend's house and ditches me. Yes, leaves me alone in the city after midnight with no idea where I am. He then says if I want to sleep somewhere, he can call one of his friends that I don't know and ask if I can crash on his couch.

As scary and poorly thought out as that was, that actually worked out pretty well. So I crashed on a stranger's couch after midnight, woke up a few hours later and was back on the road home at 4:30. With all of my one friend's earthly possessions somehow squashed in my minivan. He said he was going to come back to my town to his new place sometime yesterday and we could unload everything when he gets back.

So, at midnight last night, he texts me that he just got back and we could start unloading.

For unknown reasons, I still haven't texted him back and all his stuff is still in the van. What price should I start the bidding at?

*removes stethoscope* Yep, you have an acute case of friendship exploitation. How can he think that he can treat you in that way !?

I hope he makes it up to you big-time...
Patrick took me on a carriage ride yesterday with a full bottle of mimosas, after we got couples massages.

A FUCKING CINDERELLA CARRIAGE RIDE

@Cosmyk: You should sell all that stuff back to him.
Has anyone mentioned or noticed the new set-up yet?
Yeah, it's pretty slick.
I don't think I'm getting Birthday or Christmas presents this year. All this week I have been getting things to decorate my room with, like a bookcase and an entertainment system (I actually have to pay back some of the money for the latter since my mom had to do a favor for a friend to get the thing for me). So I think I'm lucky this week, which means that bad luck is coming my way sometime soon. Bring it on!
You Europe folk make me feel fat with how you size things. I've got a jacket that says "42" for the size.
I agree, my jacket has a very prominent L on it!
I feel L now!
That sounds bad if you've ever watched/read Death Note.

It just seems like it's so much bigger when you use fairly high numbers. I remember seeing shoe sizes once as well and I think mine was in the 30s while it's either a 6 or 6 and a half for US sizes.
Eh, I guess its all perspective. You know, how 1 kilometer isn't a mile.

Exactly. It's a size I'm not used to using, so it just seems wonky. I remember I had to get a ruler out once to make sure a Tintin shirt would fit me because the way the dude sized it he said it was a certain length "From armpit to armpit". I'd never seen that before.

I don't get why, in our globalised world, they don't invent a standard measurement for clothing. Not to necessarily replace the current measurements (because so many people would faff about "hurrrr it's our national measurement, we so prowduvit rahrahrah") but as an added number. Then I wouldn't have to keep in mind that I'm a 44 in France, a 9.5 in the UK and a 10 in Canada. There would be a nice little international number that would be standardised throughout the world.

Speaking of measurements, why the devil did you Americans invent a different gallon and pint, etc, to the Brits ? Can you not handle your drinks ?
That said, I think everyone should just go metric and call it a day *so brave*
Eh, there's a story behind everything. Like, the reason we aren't using metric was to prevent road accidents. That's a lot of signs that would have to be replaced.
Yet another reason why YT is a giant piece of shit.
