It wasn't a bad game. Especially considering the limitations of previous platforms compared to what we currently have. I played it all the way through, just want super impressed for some reason. Maybe I expected something a little different.

If they did do another Mega Man game, though, think they would consider even trying to do a FPS? Or third person (like MM Legends)? Open world? Comparable to: Skyrim, Crack Down, Fable, etc?

What think ye?
There WAS going to be a mega man FPS game called Maverick Hunter, but it was cancelled because I dunno.

Not if Crapcom has anything to say about it. They seem to ether be afraid of making money, afraid of doing something that will make one time fans happy (Smash Bros does not count), or afraid of making a bad Mega-man game.

(sigh) I miss old Capcom, and it's too bad that I got into the Megaman games late.
Capcom doesn't seem to know what the hell to do with Megaman. Its like they dont see dollars coming out of it. I guess they don't want to be like Sega with Sonic. Or am I being too kind on that?
The problem with Megaman is different than Sonic. Sonic just has fans that don't know what they want. Sonic has a new game play stile, people hate it. Sonic has the same play stale, people hate it. Sonic has more friends, people hate it. Sonic has no friends, people hate it.

With Megaman, they say they don't know what to do with him, but there are many GOOD ideas that they out right canceled. Oh let's also not forget that this was our fault for not wanting these games.
Did MM9 and MM10 even sell that well?
MM9 did well to have Capcom think it was worth making another but the sells for MM10 droped soon after it released.
So to say, it isn't all that unwarranted for them not to make classic MM games.

Ok fair enough. no more CLASSIC Megaman. How about the X, Legends, and crossover games that were all canceled? All that we got was a app game that played and looked like shit. They think we don't want more games becuse one bad crossover game did not sell well. The same thing happened with X6 (which is shit) and came back with X7 (which is bad ass) only becuse it was Megaman's 15th anniversary.

There are factors that make it so games don't sell well. X-over was a phone game and next to nobody wanted to play it. Maverick Hunter X and Megaman: Powered up were on the PSP which (to my knowledge) no body really had.
Well MMX7 did review pretty badly and some even consider it one of the worst in the series. X8 picked up a bit but maybe not enough for Capcom to think of it as a stable IP. I know there was Command Mission but I know nothing of it so don't hold that against me.

As for Legends, they did have the thing where they asked people would they buy Legends 3 judging by the beta footage they had. There wasn't that much support for that so they decided it wouldn't sell enough to be profitable.

I mean, sure, there are people who want legit new MM games but I can understand Capcom from a business standpoint. A loud minority of gamers worldwide isn't the majority, sadly. Still, I do think at least a downloadable MM game would work. Retro is in nowadays.
Don't you just love revivals? R-Type is coming back!
