I watched the first episode of Devil Survivor 2: The Animation this morning and so far, I think it's awesome.

That one anime for me is Naruto. What is yours?

Anime I enjoy? There's many like Great Teacher Onizuka, Fate/Zero, Bakemonogatari, Welcome to the NHK, Mushishi, and some others.

I tried getting into it, and I get why a lot of people really do like it, but I just never find myself very entertained by it. The closest I've gotten was in the action scenes of Sword Art Online, just because the action is f*cking beautiful, the music is fantastic and the dialogue and voice acting is really packed with emotion, but then the show goes back to bleh for me. It's sort of metaphorical for an actual mediocre in-game if you think about it, you grind through all of the normal enemies in a dungeon, or in this case parts of an episode, and then you get to a sweet, satisfying boss fight at the end of it all.

Oh, and for previously stated reasons, RANMA 1/2 MAKES ME WANT TO CUT MYSELF.

Well Arjahn, I have a question for you, do you like regular TV shows, (Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, etc.) and if you do what kind of shows do you like? I will give recommendations based on your answer.

You hear that earthquake? That's from all of the heads banging on the walls. Because nobody cares about the anime anymore. Has the ratings gone down in Japan?
Pokemon will always sell like hotcakes and the show has been getting many views still, so it's expected that they would try to cash in on it.
Pokemon will keep going until it becomes no more, and if you wanna know who still watches that anime, children, that's who. Really the only reason it's continued for so long is because it's treated like a cartoon instead of a show, something happens in an episode, (conflict) and by the end of the episode, or the next episode, that something is resolved. There's no ongoing conflict, and no real deep story to it, that's why it's able to still be a thing.

I never understood why so many fans were entitled or really pissed off by some events within the show (not defending it per say as I don't think it's a good show, but still have attachment due to nostalgia). What I mean for example is I remember someone on another forum being upset that Ash had to use his Pokedex on a Coffing in one of the newer seasons. Many were upset as they said that this did not match up canonically as he had seen one before, but many people forget that the show's intended audience are kids of this generation, not the same kids from 10+ years ago who are now grown and have even kids of their own.

If they really want to continue the show, they should end Ash's journey, and reboot it to center around a new character.
Why? It would be the same character just plastered into a new design, and I don't see them letting up Pikachu as the mascot any time soon.

At least the new character wouldn't be known as the shittiest trainer ever.

I just want his mom or Gary Oak to call him out on it and how he's wasted more than 10 years of his life. I should check out what he actually has nowadays on the Serebi site.
Just started watching To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.

I don't like how Japan makes everyone seem older than they are.

You mean in appearance? If you mean in personality/attitude, I can say that for a lot of other mediums.

In other news, this AMV is fantastic.

If you want an anime that does not rely on overreactions, absurd randomness, and references for it's comedy and rather it be a well written sitcom style show, then try to check out Astro Fighter Sunred. Just finished the first season of this ugly surfaced gem, which was a great watch.

The show is a parody of superhero/sentai type of shows and loves to play around with the tropes found within. While it's fairly basic in what it tries to does, the execution is done well and the humor never feels dry nor does it ever become stale, minus a few gags. While the characters are not overly complex, they're some of the most lovable characters with Sunred being the untypical hero who's rude, foul mouthed, and lazy, while the "villain" Vamp is the opposite as well as he's very humble, earnest, and quite a helpful person to many around him. While the side characters are amusing as well, the dynamic between the two is the best and makes for some comedic gold.

If you don't mind a poorly animated show with no plot, then I'd recommend the show if you're wanting a refreshing comedy.

Might look into it.
