Oh no, I know what you were saying I just wanted to bring it up.

Don't watch Konosuba kids, it kills anime societies.
Eh, to each their own. I watched it with the expectation of stupid stuff, pervy stuff, and funny stuff. I found it less pervy and funnier than I figured it would be.

Oh no, it's fine. I think everyone needs to watch their share of trash anime to truly experience it all and get a taste for the medium.

It's why I'm watching Keijo.

BTW, if you liked HXH that much, then i recomend you to watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, it has a similar battle system and even one of Netero's abilyties was inspired by those seen in JoJo!
Eyyy so it was Space Jockey that recommended JoJo. Couldn't remember who it was that said I should watch it because I thought HxH kicked so much butt. So after watching I can confirm that JoJo kicks a lot of butt too, so that was a really good recommendation. Thanks a bunch space pal.

I really loved the second arc in particular, despite the more typical shonen-y plot, but I really like everything I've seen so far in general. The character designs and music are pretty consistently great which is good. I do wish characters from the first arc were developed more, and the third arc was less 'fighting a new bad dude for an episode or two rinse repeat', but I enjoyed it bunches too.

So, having watched it up to the most recent series (DIU isn't holding my interest as much as the other arcs did but I still have hope and that's all you can have in hard times) I can honestly say I've walked away with three important things: the urge to scream "ZA WARUDO" in every serious situation in life, a desire to strike overly fabulous poses at any instant, and another anime opening song constantly stuck in my he- SONO CHI NO SADAME!!! JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJO!!!!!!!!

You are welcome, dude!

Yeah, the "villian of the week" formula in part 3 is way more blatant/obvious compared with later parts, and yes, Battle Tendecy was a wild ride as well as the point where JoJo actually becomes.... JoJo.

Keep watching my man, it eventually starts to get better!

Konosuba got into our anime soc's weekly showing (12 weeks in a term, so we show a short series every week) and honestly it was pretty much trash.

Every time it came on, no one would watch it and people would leave immediately which dwindled the numbers down to me, my friends and the regulars.

Konosuba single handedly killed our anime society.

I mean it in the "normal guy ends up in an RPG" sense. The tone is completely different.

It's not really the protagonist that I'm referring to, if anything he's actually less memorable than Kirito, whether it be because of his name, which I can't remember for the life of me, or something else. It's the rest of the show that feels like SAO to me. Also, while I'm thinking about the main protagonist, I hated him in that first episode. He starts of by complaining that he doesn't have Excalibur at the beginning. That line just makes him sound pointlessly whiny. It's kind of nice that he tries to do something to help another character and dies it for it a few times, but beyond that, he's just annoying and at least as far as I could stand to watch, pretty worthless. I'm pretty sure he gets over that at some point, but I'm sick of main characters that are either perfect at the start, or so unbelievably useless to everyone around them literally dies because of their incompetence. It's always one extreme or the other. I'd like some balance in there from the start for once, so the character feels realistic. It's also pretty much impossible for me to accept that this guy has a better build than people who are actually that introverted would have, just as an excuse to show some hidden potential in him. That's actually taking the idea of show don't tell to the most minimalist acceptance that you can and just going with it.
Guys, I think I found the greatest Death Note-related video in the history of Youtube:
I don't get it? Why is this a 7-minutes short? This deservers it's own movie!!
Watched the final episode of the DiU anime. It was gorgeous. I loved every bit of it.
Overall, it was a GREAT finale! While I wait for the part 5 anime to come out, I'm going to start watching some animes/mangas on my "pending" list such as Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Berserk, etc.
Can anyone give me a few ideas of animes to watch? I've been lucking out on a few I really wanted to get into but couldn't and kinda scared of taking that leap of faith.

I'm not really into horror btw, so something outside that genre would be great.

What exactly are you looking for? Thrills, Chills, Psychological, Comedy, Slice of Life, Action, Adventure, Sports, Mahjong?

Personally, I can recommend "Kaiji" which is about a guy called Kaiji who is forced into debt and has to bet his life on reckless things. Very entertaining, emotional, and brilliant. The Psychological Mind Games played between the characters are great. I honestly think it's my favourite anime of all time.

"Welcome to the NHK" is another anime I'd recommend. It's about a guy called Satou who is a NEET and has trouble leaving the house until he meets a girl named Misato who tries her best to help him break out of his NEET life, and start living a normal productive life in society. Really emotional, great characters and story arcs. Even has comedic moments.

"Ping Pong the Animation" is another I'd recommend. It's about five individual ping pong players trying their hardest to reach the championships and winning, but of course only one of them can. It's a great anime and is quite short. It takes around 3 episodes to truly pick up and can be quite boring at the start, but trust me it's really good. It's only 11 episodes long so it won't take a lot out of your life by watching it. Great characters and arcs, really great music. While the artstyle is ugly and unappealing, the animation makes up for it.

"One Outs" is another. It's basically the idea behind Kaiji but replace it was a baseball pitcher who always strike people out. It revolves around a character called "Tokuchi" who goes onto a professional baseball team to get them to the top. He bets with the chairman that if he strikes anyone out he is payed 5 million yen, but if someone hits his ball he pays 50 million. The beauty of this anime comes from the fact that pretty much all other teams have an ace that Tokuchi needs to best in someway or another, whether it be through playing normally, or running out the clock to tie a game, or even throwing a bat at someone to stop them from pitching. It's great.

"The World God Only Knows" is another. It's about a kid who is the god of visual novels and can capture the heart of any girl in those games, unfortunately someone believes him to be a god of capturing the hearts of any girl real or fake, and gives him a contract to see if he can help capture demons that are residing in the hearts of girls in his school. So he must use his visual novel knowledge, along with the help of a demon to capture the hearts of different girls every week or so. It's a really interesting anime, with great slice of life elements, comedy and even some video game references and mentions. It's really good.

"A Certain Magical Index" is another. While I wouldn't call it amazing, I still really enjoyed it. It's about a kid who has the power to dispel any magic or "esper" powers with his right hand, apart from that he's just a regular guy. He finds a girl on his balcony one day who turns out to be an "Index" of 100000+ books that a magical society are trying to recover. The anime revolves around him acting the hero and fighting people who are much much stronger than him, even a fight where he fights the strongest "esper" in the city. I won't say anymore, but give it a looksee. It's full of turnabouts, comedy, slice of life and really great fights.

Others I'll suggest, but just their main points are.

Cowboy Bebop - Action, Great Characters, Stories, and arcs, Great Music, Emotional moments. 26 episodes
Space Dandy - Comedy, Action, Great Characters, Great Music, Interesting and Engaging Stories. 26 episodes.
Trigun - Comedy, Action, Post Apocolyptic, Great Music, Great Characters. Gets really emotional and deep by the end. 26 Episodes.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - It's just amazing, give it a watch. It's everything you could ever want in an anime. (I'd read it personally)

Personally I'd suggest Kaiji, NHK, Space Dandy and JoJo.

Ah... We're similar ages, so chances are you might have already seen what I would recommend if you were a Toonami brat like me. Did you catch The Big O or Outlaw Star?

Otherwise Hare+Guu is really good and an odd take on harem anime is Happy Lesson about an orphan that has a group of teachers all wanting to be his mother.
In other news, here's a weird story.

After reading Ten, which is a Mahjong manga. I was learning some new words I had never heard of. One being "Houtei" which was winning off the last discard of the game. Anyhow, I googled it to learn what it was and came across this manga called "Isekai Houtei: Rebuttal Barrister"

This was the Synopsis.

"Yuuto Shiba is a 29-year old who, despite his desire to be a barrister, is a complete failure of a man. In a fit of drunkenness, he gets hit by a truck and dies. In the afterlife, he is brought into the world of Luanolde, and is tasked with implementing Japanese law into the country's court systems. "

Guess, what I'm beginning to read?

It's also exactly as I expected it to be, I hope this gets an anime. It'd be great.

Reading Ten really makes me understand why people wanted an Akagi manga and how it got an anime. He's truly an amazing character. That's a beautiful line.
