So I stated watching Clannad because friends told me to since it's "DA BES ANIME EVAR", and for the first 7 episode or so it was just talking, comedic actions and slice of life events so I put into google "When does Clannad" and the first response was "get good" and spent a good few seconds laughing at how it's an actual search.

At least I'm not the only person who is currently bored by Clannad in the beginning.
I gotta say guys, Clannad is one of the best slice of life romantic comedy animes I've ever seen.

Huh? Whatdya mean It's meant to be sad?

Oh well, After Story is the bit where it becomes sad right?

I really couldn't get into it. It lost me even more when it started adding fantasy elements.

As for After Story, all I can say without spoiling it is Yes, it has some sad parts.
Man I don't even know anymore. Clannad just confuses me.

Boy MC and Girl MC finally become bf and gf by the end of the first season, and their friends joke about them not being able to even hold hands together without them becoming flustered, and then 14 episode down the line Girl MC is pregnent.

I feel as if I'm missing something here, but when the hell did they advance from "unable to hold hands" to "baby making daily"? I mean, I feel as if there should've been SOMETHING to indicate that this was about to happen. The entire second season has just been the MC getting a job and advancing the love between Boy MC and Girl MC, there has been like no indication that they even kissed yet, let alone anything after that. Also, the time between the first episode and this episode is like a whole year and a half, yet it only feels like a couple of days.

idk, maybe I'm stupid
^

I don't watch either, but even I know One Punch Man wins.
I watch anime sometimes still. I just thought the video was funny.
Did you know? The word "otaku" it's NOT a term to refer anime fans, but rather, a term used to describe people who suffer obsesions . Said obsessions can be about anything: trains, videogames, pornography, the Internet. You name it.

The term does not mean "anime fan" or "or someone who likes Japanese culture".

Yes, I know is likely that the word "otaku" is gonna be in the title forever since the guy who created this thread hasn't been active since 06-15-2015, but still.
Its all about applied meaning. Scientist has a similar meaning depending on the context.
Damn Trigun got pretty emotional by episode 18 onwards.

I thought this was just going to be "the adventures of anime deadpool ft. insurance girls" for 25 odd episodes with comedy, action and maybe a bit of romance, but instead I got a pretty messed up background of Vash and Knives, and some pretty emotional events that I didn't expect.

This is what I enjoy about anime that surprises me like this, when I watched Angel Beats and it suddenly became super sad it caught me off guard, whereas in Clannad I expected the sadness and when it came I wasn't as saddened by it as I should've.

Still got around five episodes left before I finish the series. Really good if I do say so myself. Has a good balance of action and comedy, and the parts where they do focus on story are not boring like some animes tend to have.

Please explain
Well, "Otaku" can be seen as a thing specifically for anime or it could be about obsession. That's not the only use for it, as has been mentioned.
"Scientist" is often applied for people who "research" taboo. It doesn't specifically refer to the occupation.
I got a question: how do i put my comment under spoilers? you know, similar to this:

I need a source for that.

I'm not gonna find you a source man. Its just slang you see on Imgur and Reddit when people are being creepy and trying to find out models' names.
