Speaking of, has the new Sailor Moon show started yet? I'm interested to see how that goes.

I don't think there's been even so much as a preview yet and it was announced awhile ago. I hope they keep close to the manga this time; they altered Raye so badly for the anime by turning her into a bitch with constant PMS.
Sorry for the double post, but I got curious about the Tenchi series since it's still technically ongoing and there's a lot more manga of it in Japan that will never see a US release. I was wondering if Tenchi ever picks a lady and... Well... Apparently the creator of the Tenchi series is famous for pairing up a guy with multiple partners.

It's been confirmed that Tenchi will have two kids, one of which must be with Ryoko since there's a picture of her with a daughter. The second image just shows Tenchi's kid talking with a character I don't recognize.

I heard that the creator saw no one as Tenchi's partner as that would betray the fans or whatever. Plus I think he has had at lest two partners (both non-canon). The first was Ryoko in Tenchi Forever! The Movie (I think and than it is mostly fan speculation) and the other was Sakuya Kumashiro from Tenchi in Tokyo.

That's way off. The pictures on the site I saw confirmed it, plus there was talk of a series that would explore Tenchi's intimate relationships with the girls if GXP did well. It gets confusing since there's three different storylines, but this was going to follow the original series and have them all move to Jurai.
I was bound to get it wrong. I've only seen the first half or so of Tenchi Universe and the rest I know came from a series run down video. It's a really good series, but there are so many canons and different series, you would have to be a really big fan (and Japanese, since that is where the books were released) to piece it all together.

Dude, I recently read up on it an I'm STILL lost. I guess there's also some series connected to it called War on Geminar, or something, that involves Tenchi's half brother and then Sasami had some really weird spinoffs as well where her last name was changed and then that friend she was with from there got her own show.

It's way more convoluted than a show should ever be.

That's why I hate shows that spinoff so much, but in the way they spinoff Gundam or something. Something is related in a general way but no real connection to eachother. Like with Tenchi Muyo and Universe. Both follow the a general storyline but both diverge so much later on that you don't know which one is the true cannon and the other is just the writers of the show's thoughts.

Same with Hellsing OVA and Ultimate, both start out relatively the same in the first few episodes but
the OVA went in its own direction and Ultimate is right from the manga. Was glad that Ultimate had the original VO for the english dub reprise their roles for Hellsing Ultimate.
So I started reading Hikaru No Go, which is basically Yu-Gi-Oh but with Go pieces and somewhat of a plot.

It's pretty good, even though I had no idea Sai was a guy, after reading about 20 chapters.

Just look at him.

He doesn't look like a guy, even by animu standards.

Well, at least I'm not the only one who thought he was a she.

This type of thing happens alot with anime and manga. Check out this pic for proof:
I actually have a wall scroll of Sai from Hikaru no Go I've been meaning to put back up. I likes me some pretty men.

I still remember the first time playing FF9 and seeing Kuja for the first time and they didn't say anything that indicated gender at that point and I was like 9 or 10 at the time so wasn't too focused on the text. See that first CGI cutscene as he is leaving on that dragon and I thought it was a chick till later, nope dude. Real eye opener for a 9-10 yr old isn't it?

It happens. If it makes you feel any better I thought that Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh was a girl when I was little.

I'm curious as to why you thought Rabbit was a girl when you were little? (I realize this is off topic for this thread as Winnie the Pooh isn't manga/anime related but you brought it up)
