I don't really like most shonen anime/manga series. It's usually the same generic thing: bad guys show up, heroes look like they're about to lose, but then they win with the power of friendship/love/heart of the cards/some other bs. Also, shonen anime/manga last sooooooooo long. I think One Piece is somewhere in the 700's in the manga, right? This is why I tend to play the video game versions of said shonen anime/manga, because they have condensed stories that won't take me a month to read through. And surprisingly, the games are usually made pretty well.

That's kinda my point with most animes nowadays(if it's not Slice of Life crap). But Shonen does have some interesting series like Death Note, Prince of Tennis, Eyeshield 21. That being said about Shonen, I still need to watch Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

I think it's part of some contract to make a series as long as possible so Viz Media can sell you as much junk as they can while their mangas are still relevant. And that's what killed my love of Bleach, the beginning is pretty good with it's self-contained chapters telling it's take on the afterlife and getting into wacky adventures with some oddball characters. It was like Ghostbusters meets Japanese culture. Though it doesn't take long for the series to turn from self-contained stories to long running generic Good guy/bad guy BS, and takes the focus away from what happens to the dead to let's beat up the ghost police!

This. So much this. Bleach has become so annoyingly boring and repetitive that it's not even funny anymore. My friend gave up on it ages ago and I'm just trying to bear with it until at least this stupid story arc is over. I think I have an ocd or something.
Well I just finished Psycho-Pass, and holy crap was it amazing. The entire anime as a whole was fantastic, but that ending...THAT ENDING, it was one of the best I've seen in a long time with many plot twists that I never expected and it all just felt so good. My only gripe with it is it leaves off with one of those "this story's not over yet" endings, which basically signifies another anime series in the future, but at the same time that's great because now I can almost be guaranteed more of this awesomeness. If you're not afraid of reading subs then I highly recommend you watch this anime, not too long either, 22 episodes, so you won't have to be super dedicated to it.
Does anyone remember this? I used to watch it just for fun. I don't know anything about it.

I believe the phrase to describe bo times infinity is, do not attempt to understand.
That looks like something along the lines of the awesomeness that is Excel Saga.

My roommate loves Bo-bobo and I kinda tolerate it's earlier episodes, but I think it's humor starts to wear thin after Don Patch tries to eat up as much screen time as he can.

It wasn't some generic loli-bullshit but had a great story and one that I felt was original. The characters L and Light are memorable and very interesting.
The second half the anime dipped and it wasn't as interesting. I still liked it and thought it ended OK but it wasn't as good as the first part.
Have you read the books by the way?
Los Angeles B.B Murder Case and L changed the World?
The first one is a small case L solved during a certain time period in the Death Note series his final days while he was dying
and the second is a what-if scenario based on if L stopped Light and stopped the Death Note from being used
.
L.A.B.B Is extremely well written with an amazing plot that'll make your head explode whereas L Changed The World isn't as interesting but it did have a film on it (and the film is ....meh, too rushed).
Spoiler tag just in case.
I completely agree with you. I was so hooked in the beginning, up until L's death. After that I was seriously considering not watching any more of it. The ending isn't bad though, just surprising. Light really became desperate in the end.
I've heard of the light novel and the movie but I haven't read/watched them. Wasn't sure if I should read it but since you speak so highly of them I'll check them out.

When they first aired Bo-bo I was interested(During my anime interest) and it was bloody terrible. It wasn't funny in the slightest. It's just random, and random isn't funny.
"Oh look now he's coming in lying down between to burger buns"...why?
@Kai
The first one has an awesome story that'll fool you at a certain point. Loved it. They're only around 200 pages long so it's a very short book, but well worth checking out.

What do you expect from a series who's cast has : a jello creature, a man with nose hair power, and a kid who farts to kill?

What's that? Random isn't funny?
I feel bleh that kids these days will just watch Bleach and Naruto, and most likely will never see Akira.
