I likes me some pretty men.
I still remember the first time playing FF9 and seeing Kuja for the first time and they didn't say anything that indicated gender at that point and I was like 9 or 10 at the time so wasn't too focused on the text. See that first CGI cutscene as he is leaving on that dragon and I thought it was a chick till later, nope dude. Real eye opener for a 9-10 yr old isn't it?
It happens. If it makes you feel any better I thought that Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh was a girl when I was little.
I'm curious as to why you thought Rabbit was a girl when you were little? (I realize this is off topic for this thread as Winnie the Pooh isn't manga/anime related but you brought it up)
I think it had a lot to do with the fact he didn't wear any gender specific clothing, I thought his voice sounded like it could be a woman, and I thought his mannerisms were rather feminine. Anthropomorphic characters sometimes confused me when I was very little.

Yeah he did sound like a fussy mother or grandmother didn't he, especially when Pooh was around and stealing his shit.

To be honest, I never once questioned Chrono's or K's gender, though Envy and Ed gave me gray hairs when trying to figure out theirs. The rest of those characters I have never seen before.
Got a present for GameWizard001 ;p

Okay took me a while to come back to see this and my reaction is: REALLY!?!?
That concludes my reaction.
To be fair that is a very pretty man it seems. Anyone could make the mistake that this was a chick.......gonna stop typing now before the rather large hole I find myself in gets bigger (and opened up innuendo jokes to follow, god damn it).
Two episodes in with Index season 2 and I'm already cringing. Hard.
I seriously want to see the planning stages of this series. Like, do they actually have a quota for extremely awkward and cringe worthy scenes per episode? And seriously, a 12-year-old nun in
a miniskirt a shirt type version of a nun's habit with no pants and shoes so high she can barely stand with them, let alone walk AND who has her own nude scenes. Yes, that's a plural, and yes, this is just one episode. I dread what this series has yet to show... *shudder*
Though I did spoil myself and when checking the wiki found a picture of this:
So that's happening again. Who knew. It's like this hasn't happened a dozen times already.
Sometimes I wonder which was more important to the people who made this show, the story they are telling or how many times they can get a preteen girl strip naked.
Oh, and before anyone who has no idea what this series is questions my taste in shows, no, this is not porn.

Dude you don't have to watch it.
Index and Railgun are usually aimed at people who like to see this kind of stuff, I only watched it because I liked comedic stuff and weak characters vs strong. I'll admit the nudity and stuff is toooo much, but it adds to the comedic tone of the show.
Come on man, you can't say the Accelerator fight wasn't the best fight in the entire show. They even
redid it in Railgun S, and it was much better
I also watched about 10 minutes of Steins:Gate before I had to go somewhere, hopefully I will watch it more.
I watch it because I really like the overall story. They are just ruining the mood of the show more than they should. Like, none is preferrable but you don't have to have a quota for stupid shit in every episode.
I like the battles, I like the characters (apart from Index and Kuroko) and I will watch the show all the way through since I'm this far already. I just know that it's gonna make me slam my head to the desk on more than one occasions in the future. As far as the comedy goes, once you've seen a guy fall into a woman's bosom on one occasion, it loses its small-to-begin-with comedic value in the hundred other anime shows. It's such a cliche it's ridiculous.
Btw. I doubt the show is made purely with pervs in mind. I just wish the fucking loli thing wouldn't be such a prevalent thing in anime in general.

....or [shot fired at Attack on Titan]
I've been needing a Manga to read and found Junji Ito. I'd recommend his stuff if you're into horror stories that have a HP Lovecraft feel, the his stuff is pretty good.
Two I would recommend are Uzumaki and Enigma of Amigara fault.
Uzumaki being able a town with a supernatural allure to spirals which has the resident going insane.
Enigma of Amigara being able mysterious holes in a mountain which are fit for people to walk through but they each have their own hole(my favourite short story, you can find it at the end of Gyo Vol 2).
Is Kill La Kill any good?
It is weird if that counts. I can't really attest to the quality as I'm just going on other opinions I've heard.
So I'm watching Attack on Titan, and it's got the subtitles, with Japanese voice acting. My mom speaks fluent Japanese, and it turns out, the subtitles censor what they're saying. The subtitles are relatively PG-13. The actual language is VERY R-Rated.
I got hooked into Sword Art Online.
Think of this show like part Reboot meets The Matrix. Everyone is trapped inside an MMORPG by the creator of the game. The players have a virtual realty headset that is directly hooked into their brains. They all know it's a game but if they lose all their HP they die in the real world. I'm about half way into the first season and time progression is they have been in there for roughly 2 years. They can level up and earn skills, make parties and such. The only way to survive and escape is by clearing all 100 levels and their bosses.
I both hope that each season has a full arc and conclusion just incase it ever just gets cancelled but they also leave it open to keep going if they wanted to.
Thankfully both Netflix and Hulu Plus have it so I'm watching it off Netflix because no commercials. They even have a Japanese and English audio choice so you can either watch Japanese with subtitles or English Dub so that makes it nice incase you prefer English Dub like I generally do, although Naruto Shippuden in Japanese is actually better as far as the sound of voices goes. English Naruto just sounds so screechy and annoying that you don't care what situation he is in you just want him to stop talking.

I've never watched the English dub but I always imagined he sounds kinda like he sounds in this:
