Can I ask why people find this show so great? I seem to be the only person to not be interested in it. All people keep telling me is that it's the best cartoon anime out there, but when I watched it, I got bored really fast. Maybe it's like Evangelion and Naruto, which I never got into but everyone else has. To each thier own, I guess

It actually didn't fair all that well in Japan if truth be told. That's why it only had like 26 episodes. Its well received in the west because it was based around western themes and did them well. People in Japan just didn't "get" it. Now personally, I love Cowboy Bebop, but I can see why people who like the anime humor wouldn't.

Well, in my case the first episode I saw was Toys in Attic when I had insomnia one night. This episode is one of the weirdest in the series and featured Ed a lot, who I absolutely adored since she was so quirky.

I don't really like earlier episodes of the series that much but I started to be interested in all the characters and wanted to see their lives fleshed out as the series went on.

I've never had any desire to watch Evangelion and shows like Naruto that are 90% filler I refuse to watch. I do think that Bebop might be a tad over hyped, but it is one that a good chunk of people do seem to get into easily.

My personal favorite anime of all time is The Big O, which is seems like a lot of people remember but never really got attached to it. I'm really big into shows that let their characters have distinct personalities. Plus the story really grabbed me until that stupid confusing ending.

Looks like I'll have to give it more than two episodes next time I want to give it a shot.

I swear by the first season of Big O. There's just this neat mystery of what the hell happened 50 years ago and where the robots in that show came from. The animation is really nice for the time and modeled after Batman: TAS. I also like the relationship between Dorothy and Roger and how they gave a monotone, stoic character like Dorothy such well thought out personality. Beck is also great as a villain with how he does such terrible thing and yet you can't take him seriously.

The second season really loses steam and becomes a train wreck, just leaving you to scratch your head in confusion.

A friend lent me the first 4 episodes of Trigun on VHS and I adored it. I honestly didn't expect the series to get so dark, though. From what I read the manga is actually pretty brutal, especially when it gets into Legato's past.

Oh, have you seen Outlaw Star? You might like that one. It's another one that was better received in the US.

I've heard about it but have never seen it. From what I looked up it looks like it might be a preatty good show to watch. I'll put it on the long list of shows I need to watch.

I must be one of the few people who think Trigun isn't that great. The show had a great beginning, good enough to make me buy the ridiculously expensive DVD box, but it just wasn't that good near the end. I think this series would have benefitted from a second season, giving some of the bad guys more screen time since some of them were killed off too quickly. I much preferred the manga over the anime.

I kind of forgot about Big O. I don't know why, but I only really remember not liking it.

There are a lot of solid series on those lists, both for newcomers and for old watchers.

One anime I actually really tend to recommend to people who really aren't into anime is Bacanno. It's around 13 episodes and has a great mixture of action, comedy, and mystery with some of the best characters I have come across in an anime. Not only that, but it also has a very western feeling considering that it takes place in New York with mobsters abound, all set to a jazzy beat. Many seem to love it, so I can call it a good starting point for some.

I wouldn't recommend Bacanno for a starters anime, since it's kinda confusing and weird to watch. Sure the intro is interesting, but the show itself keeps on changing the perspective of the person and interlacing the story together.

I'd say if you want to get into anime watch Death Note, since it's babby's first anime besides Pokemon, Dragonball Z and Cowboy Bebop.

Well, I finished Cowboy Bebop and I'm sad that it's over. The last 2 episodes are amazing. I can't wait until the series comes out on Bluray in America, because I'm absolutely in love the show. The only thing left now is to watch the movie, and start another anime.

Man, the person who makes Kangoku Gakuen sure loves to make detailed drawings of this guy.

Got bored, so I decided to read some Pokemon Manga yesterday. Gotta say, its pretty dark and is actually rather violent for Pokemon Standards.

Apparently (from what I have read around the net), the comics and the new cartoon was how Pokemon was ment to be (aside from the female characters being drawn by a porn artist) before it was tamed down. I think it would be really cool to chop an arbok in half in the games.

Yep, I was pretty shocked to see them say Shit and Bastard in the manga. Hell, halfway through
I only read up to the beginning of the Gold/Silver arc, since it was a bit boring there. I still found it pretty funny how
It's pretty stupid though, since it doesn't really follow the games, near the second gym
Although, it's alright apart from that. I actually had the first few chapters about 10 years ago, I found it in a charity shop for £1, no idea where it is now.

I should go back and read it now that I think about it, I didn't get that far.
