Might as well give a small update on things I've been reading/watching.

After finishing Kakegurui, I decided to give some good anime a watch, and forced my way through Kaiba.

It was honestly alright, nothing special in my eyes but I did feel like a lot of what was going on went over my head, due to watching the episodes so sporadically (I watched the first episode in June, and the second in September). I enjoyed the world since it was pretty interesting and all the side stories were very well done. The whole show was very unique and interesting, it was boring from time to time but I still enjoyed it.

I also go into Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, and man what a fucking anime. I only found out about it from seeing a thumbnail of the opening on Youtube, and I clicked on it since it piqued my interest and man. Just watch it.

When an anime has a good opening, it'll always get me into it. Trigun, Kaiji and Baccano! are good examples of this. I loved the openings for those shows and would usually watch them fully instead of skipping them like I did a lot of other anime.

When I got around to watching Nadia, man it was great. The show is very well done, and even has a good dub which reflects the show, since characters are from around the world and their accents reflect this. The best way to describe the anime would be like if you took the Pokémon anime, reskinned the characters, removed the Pokémon and put them in a JRPG esque world like Grandia or Skies of Arcadia. It's very very good, and each episode hasn't disappointed yet. I have heard it gets a bit bad around episode 20-30, but I've still got high hopes.

In my anime society, One Punch Man and Erased are the current running series, so I'm going through those as well, whether I want to or not.

I also started Little Witch Academia, currently on episode 2 but I'll finish it soon.

Manga wise, all I've finished is another Fukomoto classic, Buraiden Gai. A story about a teenager falsely imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit and is sent to an awful rehabilitation facility, and has to do his best to prove his innocence. It was pretty short and I finished it in a day. Would recommend.

On the currently reading section, I'm reading two. Zero: Man of Creation and Yotsuba!.

Zero is an odd one, I only started reading it after being the only good looking thing to come up out of the hundreds that had the name Zero in the title when I searched it on Mangafox. It's about a guy who creates "original" counterfeits to famous pieces of work where only one would exist, it's an odd manga and it's not fully translated in English yet despite being over 25 years old. I do hope more work is put into it, it's oddly good.

Yotsuba! is something I've been meaning to read for years now, and finally got around to it and man am I pleasantly surprised. It's actually really funny for once. I usually don't laugh at Japanese humour that you'd see in shows like Nichijou, but damn Yotsuba! is just really funny. I'm finding myself laughing at the manga more than I'd like. I shouldn't have to explain what it's about, but it's basically the adventures of a 6 year old girl in her new neighbourhood, it's a very cute and funny manga that I hope gets better as I read more.

Haven't been doing much else anime/manga wise except these.
So I recently found this, I thought it was interesting.

To answer the rethoric question in the title: if the Stands of Part 4 (and maybe even later parts), the series would be less of a legal hassle when it comes to liscencing. Looking foward to seeing this idea applied to later parts.
IF the Vento Aureo anime gets confirmed during this event, I wouldn't expect it 'till Summer or Fall 2018.
Voice Actress Hiromi Tsuru (Bulma in Dragon Ball, Ukyou Kuonji in Ranma 1/2, etc) Passes Away

R.I.P Ms.Tsuru. She will always be the princess of all Saiyans to me.

Now, as for Bulma's character, I don't think they are going to kill her off becuase of this (yes, there are actually people believening this is gonna happen). Muten Roshi is on his 3rd voice now. Both Mr.Satan (real name Mark) and Tenshinhan are on their 2nd voice. Bulma's overall importance plays a factor on this as well.

HOWEVER, if they end up killing Bulma for good in Dragon Ball because of this unfortunate event, then honestly I don't really mind. They could just say that Bulma died out natural causes while the T.O.P happened (and considering the T.O.P happens far away from Earth, it wouldn't really seem forced).

In other words, I am okay with either outcome.
Japan seems to be drifting away from their "The character dies with the VA" mindset so it'll be interesting to see how they handle it.

  1. Were did you hear that the "character dies with the VA" trope is something exclusive to Japanese entertainment? Because that's far from reality. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Ma...iedWithHim)
  2. Apparently the T.O.P ends in March, meaning that there's plenty of time to find a replacement.
Bulma's the main character of Dragon Ball. Without Bulma, we get no Goku wondering about the world. No one manages to assemble the Dragon Balls. (You know Pilaf Gang wouldn't manage it.). No space ships. No time travel. No dragon radar. No saiyaman. Nothing. If Dragon Ball Super is going to continue, there will be another Bulma VA.

Bulma is more akin to a deuteragonist since the story is told from the perspective of Son Goku. But other than that, I must say that's a pretty solid reasoning and I agree with it. And like I said earlier, it wouldn't be the first time they just looked for another VA after the dead of the previous one (see Roshi, Mark and Tenshinhan).

Also, "Goku wondering about the world"? I think you meant "Goku wandering around the world".
No, I meant wondering, as in properly thinking about the possibilities instead of being holed up in the mountains punching tigers and eating fish by himself. and in many way, Bulma is the main protagonist. Its Journey To The West after all. She's is Tripitaka. :D
After getting up to date with Yotsuba and being saddened by it not being able to get an anime, if it ever did get one they should use Animal Crossing as a starting point for it's OST.

Since it's perfectly innocent and simple with a mischievous style to it.

So I recently found out this is a thing:

I'm really looking foward to the finished product. It's refreshing to see 3DCGI that manages to stand in for traditional drawn animation with no loss in quality ,especially when you consider that kind of animation is quite rare to find, and the few examples out there are quite lackluster.

And yes, this is made by the guys of Kamikaze Douga, the same one that made (among other things) the opening credits for the first three parts of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime.
Largest Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Exhibition of all time to take place in 2018

Fascinating. I wonder what they could announce during such event. If we assume that the Vento Aureo anime will be announced at this year's Jump Festa, then they will likely announce a videogame at the very least (perphas a remake of the PS2 VA game?). If the Vento Aureo anime doesn't get announced at Jump Festa then this exhibition is the place to do so.

Either way, I'll try to keep my expectations in check in order to avoid any sort of dissapointment.
