Both are great games. I prefer SSFIV and SSFIV does have the bigger(wider) and stronger play base. Pretty much everyone plays SSFIV as a secondary game. MK9 is a still good though.
Oh hey, I was looking for a thread like this.
I've played fighting games since I knew they existed; my first encounter wasn't Street Fighter, but Marvel Super Heroes. There was a laundromat I used to go to as a child and they happened to have the cabinet there.
I didn't start to get heavily into fighting games (i.e. learning to play better) until I started playing Soul Calibur III. After that, I put a lot of time into Guilty Gear X2.
Now I play SF4AE from time to time, so if anyone ever wants to play just ask. Unfortunately, I only have it on PC, so no PSN or Xbox

I love fighters in general, particularly the competitive aspect. I haven't really been playing them much in the past two years, but I'm a fan of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue more than any other fighter. Can't forget about SSB either of course.
